Something tells me they'd prefer that than being a deluded s***s fan like someone we all know -Babatunde wrote:Why would RVP join Juve anyways? After all, they 'only' have is it 2 CL trophies? And they're on the verge of winning the league unbeaten you say?
Yeah. Who needs that when you have the '4th place trophy'....
Worryingly, many Arsenal fans are becoming the new Liverpool fans with the levels of delusion I read around here....

Re: RVP HOLDS THE KEY
Hate to say but I think you may well be rightHerd wrote:Whilst I want to see RVP stay I really do hope he doesn't sign a new contract any time soon.
The club are putting a lot of pressure on him to sign now ,but if he does so we are fcku'd
If he caves in the club will sign a few also rans and we will continue to tread water .
If he holds out and says I will stay but I want to see who you bring in before committing he may well force them into spending serious money on proven quality.
If he decides he wants out a good euroinjury free will see the Offers pour in but they will lose the last world class player we have and will not attract any more for the next 5/10 years.

Problem is Wenger is so stubborn that I just don't see him changing his policies around signings/spending (ie: Policies = being a tightwad) even if RVP threatens to walk...

Re: Rumours
Sturridge? Id put him in our first eleven any day and revert back to 4-4-2, he even supported Arsenal as a kid ffs don't think he'd turn us down.

Re: Rumours
I thought Sturridge already did turn us down - for more money at Chelski
in Wilshere, Arteta, Song, Rosicky, Rambo, Coquelin and Frimpong we're rather oversubscribed in centremid
we currently have one decent striker
not really a squad for 4-4-2 even with Sturridge

Re: Rumours
Really? If that was in in 2009 when he was at City then maybe the attraction of trophies aided his judgement? As I said if it was 2009.
Tbf Frimpong needs to go on loan anyway when he returns from injury, and I wouldn't be too upset if Song and Diaby were sacrificed either

Re: Rumours
Yeah, I think we need an actual playmaker in his prime for next year. Especially after losing nasri and cesc then replacing them with a winger and more defensive minded arteta. Rosicky isn't the one to turn to in his 7th year at the club. Don't know who we'd buy though. Cabaye is who we should've bought from Lille last summer.Sutch wrote:Really? Frimpong should be loaned again. Ramsey may even be able to relax and improve if he's not relied upon every week and actually fighting for spots. Too much of a burden was placed in him this year with cesc, nasri, and wilshere all gone.

Re: Rumours
His agent obviously agrees with Red - he's one of our 'big 3 players' !!
Asked if Song wants to play in Italy in the future, he added: "Yes, but Alex is one of the most important Arsenal players as is clear from the fact that Wenger always starts him. So I don't think the Gunners are going to sell him during the summer transfer window."

Re: Rumours
It looks like Sammy's Goetze contact is working at Metro now - the latest £20m player we're never going to sign:
Arsenal are reported to be in "advanced negotiations" with French club Rennes over the signature of midfielder Yann M'Vila. It is thought the 21-year-old French international, who has been capped 18 times by his country, could cost around £22m.

FFS Wenger - the answer isn't always to buy you know. I hope this doesn't conflict with our core property development aspirations

Re: Rumours
I would fcuking love it if we signed Javi Martinez - ever since I watched this guy captain Spain's successful under 21 team last summer I have tried to watch him when I can. Bilboa's run in Europa league has helped in that regard and I have been impressed with him even though he is playing centre back as opposed to his preferred DM position where I believe he would be exceptional for us. Please let this move happen
Interesting piece in the daily mail today re our supposed persuit of m'villa where desailly said how great a player he is and how moving to us would be ideal for him But he also said the kid needs to forget about trying to be an all round midfielder and concentrate on playing the DM position properly where he will turn out to be better than PV4. Of course when you read advice like that, you can't help but think of our lumbering ox who tries to do everything in midfield but ends up being shit at them all

I read the first line about us being in a £32m battle with Barcelona and Man United.......and then stopped.augie wrote:

....but here is a transfer rumour that I do believe. Our first piece of to priority business for this window:
Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are set for a £1.5m tussle over 18-year-old Crewe midfielder Nick Powell, who has been described as having the potential to be the best ever graduate from the famed Alex academy.

That's more like it some potential that can come good and get sold on for profit
