[POLL] Should we have bought back Cesc Fabregas?

Course we don't need him and of course he wouldn't improve our squad and of course he's not better than most players at the club and of course we're gonna sign other top players to help us compete with Europe's elite. :banghead:

We don't need Messi but if he was offered and could afford him would you take him? :banghead:

Oh but we haven't worked in football for 600 years have we? :banghead:

If he signs for the chavs, good luck to him. Maureen doesn't seem to want him,so unless the Russian crook is buying the players for when he sacks Maureen and poaches Guardiola . An odd signing indeed.

I still feel unbothered but that will all change if we eschew marquee signings that we need whilst letting the 10year history boys get strengthened.

All this anger over a sale that hasn't even happened yet is causing much merriment on the BNP 's football site known as the Shed end.

It looks like Chelsea.

I for one am absolutely gutted about it - he is better than any midfield option we have and i dont see how he wouldnt improve us.

I am feeling absolutely sick about this - it is looking likely that our former captain who we made into a world class player is about to join one of our closest rivals for the peak years of his career.

so we will have Van Persie at United, Fabregas at Chelsea and then Nasri, Clichy and Sagna at City
meanwhile we are left with Sanogo and a bunch of players who are constantly injured :banghead:

still Wenger got his 3 year contract so it is not all bad

We didn't 'think that's Fabregas said it himself. The powers at be have decided that it's not the most important part of the team that needs strengthening.

Whether you agree or not with them, we can only decide if it's a stupid decision if we don't buy what we need to move forward.

Blame the club all we want but, why would Fabregas even consider signing for them over anyone else..$£€¥, simples

Loyalty exists in football only to their bank balance . Players kiss the badge of whoever will pay them the most money. The club may not be blameless but Fabregas is one off the best players in the world, no one is holding a gun to his head forcing him to sign for the 19th history boys are they?

If Barcelona are adamant about selling him and the only other club that are willing to buy him are Chelsea, then I'd hardly say that makes him dis-loyal. I feel he'd have jumped at the chance to re-sign for us, if Wenger was willing to take him back. If anyone is showing a lack of loyalty it is Wenger. Or is Cesc supposed to just give up playing football because both Barcelona and us don't want him?

the thought of Fabregas finally lifting the Premier League title (but not with Arsenal) will be like what Spurs fans had to endure with Sol Campbell

Only Chelsea would want a class player so you are right he would have to retire.

Not calling him disloyal as such, more the belief that a player has a'dna' of any club or have ties that £200k a week can't sever.

I don't blame him and won't blame the club till the first weekend when the league starts and no reinforcements.

No I haven't suddenly become an Akb just I know if we bought him and didn't buy what we actually need, I'd be more f'ed off.

In all honesty would you all give 2sh*ts if he was signing for Real/Bayern/Psg.....didn't think so.

If you really believe Fabregas 'loves' the club why doesn't he say to Barca I'll waive my signing on fee and say to us I'll take a pay cut so you can match the chavs price........He left us for a greener pasture that didn't work out and now wants to come back but we have more pressing needs. That's unfortunate but sh*the happens.

No it won't. Fabregas has been at another club for 3years who gave us £30million +for him. He is going to yet another club, that will be paying us a percentage of his transfer.

Sol Campbell was their first captain since 1991 to lift a trophy, he came through their ranks from about 12/13yrs of age. He walked out on them for NOTHING to join their most hated rivals.

If you can't see the difference there, then I can't help you.

Bang on the money.
Not sure where he'll end up but we have pressing concerns elsehwere.

Exactly - he is not only surplus to requirements at Barcelona, they are actively forcing him out as they are planning on spending a massive wedge and have this transfer embargo floating over their head.

We don't owe Fabregas anything at all, not by a long chalk. But where are his other options? Nowhere in Spain. Between Germany and Italy - if he did want to consider either - only Bayern, Dortmund and Juventus are realistic suitors for a player of his calibre and transfer fee. No chance Bayern will be interested. Juventus have Pogba and Vidal there already and I'm not sure Dortmund would see it as worth spending £30m on him given their resources and desperate need for a striker with Lewandowski gone.

His options realistically are therefore limited to whoever is interested out of Chavs, United, Citeh, PSG or Monaco. He's going to get stick wherever he goes. It will hurt to see him playing for Chelsea if he goes there and I won't hold him in the same affection but honestly what option does he have?
