TH14 has done pretty well in fact has improved a lot I think as a coommentator.
On MOTD last season I could hardly understand his English
When hes with Shearer theres a good dynamic, but Savage is a total dead loss, TH14 is total opposite to him, it just doesnt work, and TBH i can see it getting out of hand with one or other walking out, both are pretty arrogant TBH.
augie wrote:Anybody else thinking that TH14 is coming across like an absolute tit on bbc ? I know by their nature the French are perceived to be arrogant, but his demeanour last night and this evening smacks of unbelievable arrogance and last night he seemed so patronising towards England as well If he cant be arsed to talk and converse properly then tell him to fcuk back to America ffs
No chance. Thierry is brilliant.
TH14 has been good except for the England game when he was afraid to say anything bad about England. He's comments at half time and full time were just pointless.
In fact the standard of commentary and punditry in this world cup has been dire Chiles Carlisle Townsend Neville Lawrenson this who should commentate on the next England game
I have loved this world cup so far. A lot of these tournaments since 2000 have been an anti climax but this one (so far) has been really enjoyable and I love the 3 games a day thing.
But how many f---king pundits do we need? There seems to be a record amount out there and some are just so obscure. Kevin Kilbane? Danny Murphy? Really? And putting Robbie Savage next to legends of the game like Seedorf and Henry is like putting Postman Pat alongside Superman and Batman. At least Garth Crooks hasn't made an appearance yet!
And I know many people who cant stand Adrian Chiles but I like him because he is a bit different. Thought it was quite funny when the camera was panning over the people on the Copacabana Beach and he said that they were just coming to terms with Alan Irvine being appointed the new West Brom coach .

you know that they always play 3 games a day during the first stage of a World Cup?

Yes I know
It's just nice to watch so many games as a neutral and know there is another one coming up soon. As someone who hates so much about modern football, I'm trying to be a bit enthusiastic for a change
The lad giving out to the ref for spraying the foam on his boots in the first match was priceless! What a prize arsehole!
Spain are yesterday's men. They don't have the legs to play the Barca tippy tappy shite anymore and I'm delighted. Fuck them.
Should add though that I have been enjoying it more than I thought I would. The dive-fest I feared hasn't really started yet (bar one or two) and the standard has been decent. After the stinking pig's abortion of an opening ceremony I've been pleasantly surprised by the games!
Looking forward to my tips (Ze Germans ) beating Portugal this afternoon!

But how you can think the likes of Sterling, Sturridge and Welbeck can propel England to sustained dominance is beyond me. Look at the player pools the likes of Spain, Germany and Argentina are picking from -England's defence and central midfield is horrendously weak and those young attacking players have to be regarded as average on the world stage.
Clearly you once again cannot read or better still understand football. I think we have spoken before regarding players and i have come to the honest conclusion the only thing you know about Football It Begins with an F
The only difference in that game was experience. England played fantastic pass and move created numerous chances and had a great game. barkley lallana sterling sturridge cahill welbeck henderson are raw talents and have great potential .
I have numerous years of coaching and reffing and to be-honest i hear armchair coaches like yourself all the time do you actual watch the game or just see the attacking play when there's a chance to score

Mate do one your clueless
You might have undermined your argument there buddy
Germany have a good youth system the Spanish youth cycle is finished have done fantastic but no more youth come through. so but nothing to compare to our system . As we have realized we buy to much exports and don't grow our own this is why for the past years we have nurtured our youth system.
I feel I have to add the last comment as i thought this forum was for people who had some idea of football and look at the whole game in general and the mechanics of it all youth systems ect.
I still say and 100% stick with my comments that with the current England team exclude ( Rooney/Gerard) this young lions team will win and do great things.

Sorry fella, your reffing experience automatically elevates your opinions above everyone else's stop embarrassing yourself trying to pull rank like that.
England's defence is appalling and the only player potentially on the horizon there is Shaw. As I've said they've got a decent crop of young attacking players - some of whom will inevitably fail to fulfil their potential - who are certainly not any better than the young players the top international sides have at their disposal.
There were some positives (in the context of all-time low expectations) but to be blunt they were playing against a bit of a transitional Italy team who are not a genuine contender for the tournament and ran out of steam within an hour, failing to keep the ball at all throughout the match in addition to being saved by the woodwork twice and scrambling one off the line. You claim on the back of that that England could be a dominant force in global football and I'm short-sighted???
SteveO had just about convinced me that ridiculously delusional England fans were a thing of the past but you've undone all of his work!

Mate stick to watching it on TV and im not pulling ranks i understand the game clearly more than you F for football is that u understand.
Italy did not run out of steam took breathers to slow the game down call experience as i said earlier .. Clearly you didnt read that part
Also clearly you didnt read the part where i said regarding the euros once again you decided i said global .
Maybe steveO was right about something maybe!! some England fans just follow the badge to be patriotic and not understand the game . I suggest you put yourself in that category.
Please understand i have read your comment on this forum and i'm sure your really love the game but alas ,I bet your really good on the PlayStation/football manager .
Now the Italian team had almost the same squad in the conf cup ???
Lets agree to disagree as im convinced another comment with I'm sure with your words of wisdom will come back .. don't bother you talk shit
I meant England ran out of steam, and just because I don't acknowledge every part of your post it doesn't mean I haven't read it - I agree that Italy are more experienced, without doubt. Although 6 of their 14 players have less than 10 caps.
About the dominance you mentioned the World Cup, the next Euros and domination for years to come - not exactly limited to the Euros is it? I don't really understand the animosity in your posting, throwing a tantrum because I'm disagreeing with you? I don't really have any desire to drag this out further but just have a quick look at this thread - my views are hardly miles away from what most people are saying, certainly less so than talk of imminent dominance!
There is an ignore button on here somewhere mate.
Nice to read you, and most other posters put across their point of view politely and without personal insults.
Anyway, what do you know? you haven't spent 30 years in footy.
