On the team selection issue, I can see why Welbeck was started, because he did score the winner in the last round, and hasn't had much game time lately, and we all knew that szczesney would start. The problem I have, is with the decision to start Debuchy. He clearly wasn't fit, and to throw him in at the deep end in a cup semi final was just idiotic from Wenger. We are in the final, thankfully, lets just hope Villa do us a favour tomorrow.

But today is the most important game left of our season by far (other than the Final if we qualified) - it's the one game not to give somebody who will be rusty/out of form game time. Hull, Swansea, Sunderland, West Brom - even United away - these are the games you give someone a pity run-out in. Not a fucking FA Cup semi.BFG4 wrote:On the team selection issue, I can see why Welbeck was started, because he did score the winner in the last round, and hasn't had much game time lately, and we all knew that szczesney would start. And for me the fact that he plays his reserve keeper in the final but didn't in 2002 when our reserve keeper was stronger shows that he obviously cares about winning the competition less nowadays.

Trouble is guys its easy to critise after the event, your meant to nail your colurs to the mast prior to the game.....not jumping on the band wagon after the event,
The truth is most agreed with it and was dreaming of a 3-0 or even 6-0, That is the definition of arrogance
Steve Clarke done a great but predictable job on Arsenal, Wenger seems to have no answers tactically

Granted I haven't been on here much recently but I doubt that was the case. Aside from the general pessimism Wigan last year (as well as Hull) would have been right in people's minds.Redarmy wrote:Trouble is guys its easy to critise after the event, your meant to nail your colurs to the mast prior to the game.....not jumping on the band wagon after the event,

Oh right sorry mate, must have been dreaming all those prior posts, and getting slagged off for even suggesting Reading would make a game of itnorthbank123 wrote:Granted I haven't been on here much recently but I doubt that was the case. Maybe you're right, as I said I haven't been on here for a while - I'd be surprised if this place was on the whole overly optimistic, that's all. Especially after Wigan, Hull and Monaco.Redarmy wrote:Oh right sorry mate, must have been dreaming all those prior posts, and getting slagged off for even suggesting Reading would make a game of itnorthbank123 wrote:Granted I haven't been on here much recently but I doubt that was the case. After looking at some of the comments posted during the game i would suggest that the posters refrain from using the Internet in future and just watch the game without distraction and need to post bollox. They might enjoy it.
Seems the modern fans think we had easy paths through to finals in the past and we should knock small teams away with no bother.
Modern fans get right on my tits butt I won't let them spoil a great day for the Arsenal.

Re: FA Cup Semi Final v Reading
People have always spoken bollocks. It wasn't invented with Sky sports and The Premier League. The only difference is it's easier these days for people to talk bollocks to a wider audience (I should knowMonkeymaw wrote:After looking at some of the comments posted during the game i would suggest that the posters refrain from using the Internet in future and just watch the game without distraction and need to post bollox. I was one of those extremely confident fans although in hindsight you could argue that I was cocky/arrogant - I still believe that playing back up players instead of ramsey, wellbeck and cazorla might have seen a better and more energetic/hungry performance.
Wellbeck really doesn't look like he is related to a footballer - you would think that a guy who believes that he is a centre forward, would actually make a better effort when he gets a chance there. Since he came to us it seems that he has had a centre forwards mentality coached out of him - too often he is out on the wings or dropped into midfield in a bid to link up the game and look like a complete footballer, when he should be playing on the last shoulder and using the pace that he has to get behind the defence
Cazorla really annoyed me today - if you look through the stats today you might see a new world record for percentage of completed passes, but most were backwards or sidewards

A great day ? Seriously ?? It's good that we are through to the final but no sane person could claim that to have been "great"

Re: FA Cup Semi Final v Reading
of course it's a great day we're in the final.
Re: FA Cup Semi Final v Reading
That's my point exactly. We are through to a FA cup final. I have drunk a lot of beer and watch 2 hrs of football where Arsenal have been scored more goals than the opposition. A great day. I don't give a shit is we haven't ponced about like Barca.augie wrote:Monkeymaw wrote:After looking at some of the comments posted during the game i would suggest that the posters refrain from using the Internet in future and just watch the game without distraction and need to post bollox. In football terms, I'd say getting to the cup final is always a great day.augie wrote:Monkeymaw wrote:After looking at some of the comments posted during the game i would suggest that the posters refrain from using the Internet in future and just watch the game without distraction and need to post bollox.
