Get real. Even Madrid wouldn't fire a manager sitting top of the league and still in Europe. Despite his weaknesses, Wenger is still one of the top 10-20 managers in Europe. Sacking him is hardly a priority, we just need to keep adding top quality talent to the squad which we have been doing the past few seasons.OneBardGooner wrote:Okay we didn't lose but that was down to Cech....Wenger no tactics again....a shambles of a manager should be sacked NOW.

Walcott, the Ox and Flamini - Need to be dropped...they were woeful..Bellerin has started doing waht gibbs used to fdo bomb forward get to the pen area and pass back instead of beating his man like he used to - I remember Sagna dong the same when he first arrived he would take on their flanking defender/s...then after a season he started passing back....Obviously Wenger drums any sense of daring out of them...
Cech was AWESOME - Monreal our best defender
Campbelll a bit headless chicken but tracked back every time to help Bellerin and the mid-field - Good job because Flamini was invisible....Iwobi looks useful and deserves a shot instead of walcott & the ox....I hope bfg is gone at the end of this season....we need someone competent to partner Kos.
Ref was appalling - and deserves to be reprimanded for for controlling the amount of fouls in the game....but the powers that be will simply see a report with No Yellows or Sending off's - shawcross is a lowlife specimen and may his legs be broken.

100%. Ultimately it wasn't a bad performance - first half was poor but we came out at the start of the second and were unlucky not to score (not least them hauling down both Giroud and Walcott when they might have been through without punishment) and pushed hard the last 20 minutes. Unfortunately with Sanchez, Cazorla, Coquelin and Ozil missing and the likes of Ox and Walcott turning in such dire performances week on week we just lack the creativity and quality.blair207 wrote:Would have been a good result if we had won at Anfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain did put his hand up to get on the ball plenty in the second half but fucking hell he just can't do anything right. Every decision is either the wrong one or poorly executed, and it was alarming how many easy passes went astray. Likewise Flamini was giving the ball straight to Stoke players for fun in the middle of the park. Walcott was completely ineffective again but his runs in behind looked like the only real threat to Stoke - don't know whether they just weren't feasible to pick out but we barely tried to and when we did he would have been in if he wasn't dragged to the ground. That said still no excuse for such a piss-poor performance.
Thought our defence generally did well and Cech had a blinder - not only great saves but took responsibility to come and catch or punch crosses time and time again. Ramsey had a good first half but faded massively.
Would have been a decent point in the circumstances had we won at Anfield. As it is, we have had a great chance to set down a marker in two fixtures which we generally struggle with, and we've failed to win either (which doesn't bode fantastically for next week). Avoiding defeat doesn't really have any significance in itself as neither are challengers - we would have been better off winning one and losing the other.
Finally what a bunch of pricks. Sky literally did not mention their embarrassing treatment and chants towards Ramsey despite it being obvious all game. BBC only did after 40 minutes and only because Alan Green probably

Which is something a proper manager would do - not just a GK...we have needed a Striker, a mid-filed holder/defender and a decent CB for ages..cameron326 wrote:Get real. If they were wiped off the face off the planet football (and society) would be better off. Referee was a coward who let them make foul after foul after foul.

With RVP in his pomp we'd be a few points clear by now. But then he was always injured.... so...Giroud at least contributes well in other areas which is more can be said most of the time of Flamini, Arteta, Ox, Wilshere, WALCOTT, etc. As a squad We're far from the finished article.MrT wrote:Giroud's miss costing us points again. Top strikers bury those chances, but I'm sure the Giroud fan club will make some excuse.

Brilliant to see the usual balanced opinions........
A hard won point, at a place where most other teams have left pointless.
We didn't play well but showed great character to draw the game.
Without Ozil, Sanchez, Carzola, Coq and Wilshire. Practically our first choice midfield out.
The likes of Flamini, Campbell and the Ox have done well.
We're top of the league, and have some of our top players back for Chelsea after a week's rest.
But of course, let's all moan and bitch as usual........

Throwing it away against Liverpool has cost us because 4 points would've been decent from these two games. However, Man City lost away at Stoke and got thrashed against Liverpool so we have to just see the positives from the draws and make sure we beat Chelsea next week. Hopefully with Mesut and Alexis back we'll be a lot better.

If he did his job properly we wouldn't have such a wafer thin squad AND we would be at the top but with a greater margin.

Re: 6 fingered inbreds away Sun 16.15
can every body calm down, really wtf have you all got sand in your fannys??? lets get things into perspective, stoke are our bogey team,a point is a good point, many decent teams have been put to the sword up there, weve got out unscathed for once,we are still top,we had no Ozil or Sanchez and still got a point,it was a messy disjointed game one we would have lost a couple of years back but we gave as good as we got,i know we didn't look like Barca today but we cant play with flowing football every week, jeez anybody would think we got stuffed and had no decent players at all in this squad, get a grip

I agree under normal circumstances a point would have been a good result but this year isn't normal and in mine and it seems other peoples opinion on here we've got 2 points from what should have been at least 4 if not 6, both games were winnable Anfield was a farce in the last 20 mins and this game was not played like a team aspiring to win the PL.LaughingGooner wrote:Brilliant to see the usual balanced opinions........

One other point i was quite surprised the new lad didn't at least get 5 or 10 mins as nothing else was happening and it would have at least given the fans a lift to see a new player and might have sparked something, Arsene must be keeping him for a home debut.
Re: 6 fingered inbreds away Sun 16.15
A fair enough result in the end and a much better defensive display up there than we've been used to seeing. Fair play to Cech, he was brilliant today and has earned us a point there, and I also think Monreal had another cracking game at left back. He really has been Mr Consistent this season.
What I think has been noticeable in the last 20 mins at both Anfield and again today, is that we've looked knackered. In both games at the start of the second half we've been in the ascendancy and looking to wrap the match up, but when we haven't been able to do that we've been left wobbling at the end. There are some players there who need a break but the squad depth doesn't allow for it - Flamini being a case in point. Mertesacker also gave his best performance in this fixture I thought.
Their fans really a bunch of fucking morons aren't they - any grown man who goes to a football match and boos incessantly when the other team have the ball or get a corner should really take a long fucking hard look at themselves. Pea brains ! Took them an hour or so to work out Monreal wasn't Ramsey
