We are linked with a 21 year old Egyptian left back called Islam Ramadan (nickname Milo) according to the Daily Mail.

I can't see City being that desperate to sign him while they still have Aguero, Tevez and Balotelli, even if they let Dzeko go Aguero will start more or less every game and if they sign RvP Tevez and Balotelli would probably not be in their strongest XI, wonder how that would go down with them?SammyDroppedHisShorts wrote:The Sun claims City will offer Dzeko as well as cash for RvP
Would be great to sign Dzeko though, he's still done pretty well for City this year but just hasn't had the game time. In reality even if we did sign a replacement for RvP it's not going to be anywhere near his calibre, rumours about Villa possibly coming in exchange did cause me to temporarily soil my britches but it's not going to happen. Unfortunately they are likely to piss off to some other club that will pay them £120k/w without thinking, plus Villa probably still has more ambition than us.
LFC apparently accidentally listed Dempsey as one of their players on the squad list on their website before belatedly correcting the error.

One of the most despised ex-Arsenal players could play a part in one of our best players moving to a club that has made us their bitch - Not only that but this ex-player will go to our hated rivals....F*ck!!!!! you couldn't make this stuff up, it's like a Greek tragedy...and we are the one's losing all ends up.

I can see City letting Adebayor going for a nominal fee but Spurs paying nearly all of his £170k a week... REALLY??? I imagine Bale will have seen a significant increase in his wages but they simply cannot afford to pay Adebayor anything like that because of the knock-on effect it will have on all other players' contracts. Sun journalists just take a popular story, make up a set of circumstances and then pass it off as fact.OneBardGooner wrote:Irony isn't the F*cking word:![]()

ARSENAL AND TOTTENHAM PREPARE SCRAMBLE AS BARCELONA OFFLOAD AFELLAY
ARSENAL and Tottenham are set to scramble for Barcelona playmaker Ibrahim Afellay after the Spanish club announced he would be put on the market.
The two Premiership clubs have shown interest in the Dutchman but as of now Barcelona have not wanted to sell him.
Now in a bid to raise funds for Jordi Alba and Javier Martinez, Barcelona are hoping to offload Afellay and Adriano.
Barcelona is expected to accept bids for Afellay of around £6million opening the door to both Arsenal and Spurs.
North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham are both long-term admirers of the player, with Gunners skipper Robin van Persie enjoying a close personal relationship, while Spurs have twice failed with loan-to-buy offers in recent years.

Why should he? I don't like the bloke but just because RVP has started kicking up doesn't mean he should get off his holidays.
Anyway on RVP, take it with a pinch of salt if you wish, but I've been told by someone pretty reliable that he's a shoo in to go to United. Apparently a deal has been close for a while.

Pinch of salt? I'm looking to having a very long liquid lunch if there is any substance to this rumour.

The papers are always big fans of these 'players plus cash' deals, but they very, very rarely come off ; The Cole deal included Gallas plus cash, but other than that, the only other one I can think of is when United paid £7m + Keith Gillespie for Andy Cole!
Same as the 'Club A needs to sell Player X to Club B, so they can buy Y from Club C' : Currently being Adebayor/ Spurs / Rvp version.
The good old fashioned straight player swap rumours seems to have disappeared though!

Re: McDowell's shittest of the shittest VANITY 'Rumours' Thr
Sebastian Squillaci’s time at Arsenal is up, but after a number of stories linking him with newly promoted Bastia, their president has admitted his club, like many others in France, do not have the financial ability to make a deal happen.
According to Pierre-Marie Geronimi, there is too much of a gap between salaries in England and France, as well as taxation issues which make it impossible to bring players like Squillaci back to Ligue 1.
“Sebastien Squillaci is an extraordinary player who plays for Arsenal where he has one year contract,” he told RMC. “I can not even give you his salary. He is one of the players who are out of reach for us and for many clubs in France.
“Times are tough for everyone,” he continued. “It will be increasingly difficult for the French players playing abroad to return to France. There is too much difference today between a wage in France and the English salaries, and the tax incentives in France will not be made for the benefit of these type of players.”
While some will choose to view this as a sign that Arsenal are paying salaries that are too high, it’s more an indication of the huge financial dichotomy that exists between a top tier Premier League club and a relatively small French side.
Squillaci, like Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott, is in a position where his contract expires in 2013, and it might take a gesture from Arsenal in order to make a move elsewhere seem more attractive. There is an indication that Arsenal are willing to waive a transfer fee so let’s wait and see what happens.
