The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

“We still look up front, we still look at the back,” he said. “It’s a long period until the end of the transfer market, sometimes things move in the last week.

Think the only serious conclusion you can come to is that they are not actively looking

A tad harsh, they work 24 hours a day you know, if something interesting materializes, he will consider it.......

Before deciding that it is unnecessary - we don't buy superstars, we make profits.

Now, What cheap piece of shit is he going to rush and buy to cover his constant neglect of the CB position?

I am dreading next week. Wish I was not going now :?

Ohh well 18 year old thrown in at the deep end next week. I don't expect Wenger to buy anyone after that performance, he will say we beat one of our major rivals so why do we need to strengthen.

If we do go with the existing squad, I would rather Iwobi and/or Akpom where now given a run in the side rather than allowing twatface earcupping prick Giroud back in the side.

Twitter ? Facebook ? Or is that the rumour in birr's finest taverns mc ?

I agree 100% with you re the Southampton centre backs - van dyik is a good ball playing centre half although I'm not convinced of his defensive awareness/responsibility, but fonte has been outstanding for club and country for the last 12 months 8)

Right now I am really worried shitless that we will sign johnny evans - when the rumour surfaced earlier this week I dismissed it as bullshit (although being linked with him was embarrassing too  ), but now I am thinking that he is cheap and we are desperate and those ingrediants usually end up with some useless prick being recruited by the French c.unt

Try not to laugh, but there are rumours we are trying to sign Lewandowski  Bayern are struggling to meet his demands for a new contract.

Extremely unlikely for obvious reasons. Step down for him, who would BM replace him with at this point in the window, the fee etc etc. If true this stinks of another Suarez scenario, piss about all summer waiting for your target and then get nobody.

looks like no CB coming this week....Wenger says below

‘Our defenders will be tested so I might use a few combinations during the game. I believe that Bielik, Chambers and Holding will be fighting for the place between the three of them.’

Awesome. To partner the, at times, quite unreliable and brainfart-prone Kos we have; Unproven, shite, and unproven, respectively. :|

Gotta catch em all - Arsene's a Pokémon master. Actually I can imagine him phone in hand on 31 August wandering round the streets of Le Havre or Rennes hoovering them all up
