Bellerin looks set to sign a new deal in the coming weeks. Barcelona have reportedly given up.
Loving it, especially as on Bluemoon - a Man City forum, many of them have included Bellerin as their right back in 'Pep's dream team'.
Cant wait for the reaction.

Now we hear he is touting N'Zogzi?.
From 10 years of over-load of 5' 7" Little people to 4 powerful 6'3" Mid-fielders.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
its more to do with the fact, I have come to resent Man City fans assuming they will sign him, simply because they want him.xisstential wrote:Your obsession with Bellerin is becoming worrying.Wilson wrote:Bellerin looks set to sign a new deal in the coming weeks. Barcelona have reportedly given up.

Keeping Bellerin is a proxy for sticking it to the City fans.
I also still resent Pep for his treatment of Arsenal when Barcelona were chasing Cesc. He treated us like we were insignificant. And I detect the same attitude whilst he is at City. Thinking Bellerin will jump into his lap simply because he claps his hands.
Make no doubt about it. We need to promote the narrative of Bellerin snubbing Man City. Bellerin snubbed Man City to stay with Arsenal. Because competition is also off the field as well. Propoganda and image is important. We used to have the image of being soft and easy to bully into selling players - especially to Man City. But now, we need to roll with Bellerin 'snubbing Man City to stay at Arsenal' in order to restore some prestige as well as dent Man City's PR campaign about them being on the verge of the footballing elite.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Wilson what makes you so sure Bellerin intends to stay around?
Just because a player signs a contract extension, that doesn't automatically mean he wouldn't be open to moving clubs.
No doubt he has been offered a pay increase too as a sweetener if he signs on the dotted line.
At the end of the day this does not mean city cannot buy him it just means he would cost them a lot more.
Contracts are not worth Jack shit these days and as for player loyalty... don't get me started!
Most transfers are agent led... all to do with money and fuck all to do with what's best for the player... if you believe otherwise you may be in for a bit of a shock.

But its the intent of signing a new deal. If you choose to sign a new deal, its the ultimate indicator you want to stay at the club.
Bellerin just wants to stay. He is aware of Barcelona's and Man City's interest, but he wants to stay at Arsenal.
And of course some players are notorious for rengading on contracts. But Bellerin is not Adebayor Or Nasri.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Haven't seen much of him, but the reports etc are good. He is said to take no prisoners, so with Xhaka, Mustafi and Kos in the squad - That would certainly give us the toughness we have been so desperately missing since the famous back line. Mind you it is a rare , rare thing for wenger to spend properly in the Jan window.Blade wrote:Now we hear he is touting N'Zogzi?.

Like we are never linked with any players...that we never sign...
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
He used to bully our 5'6" midget MF when with Blackburn and Stoke.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The recent Footballistically Arsenal podcast was a pretty good listen. Alex Fynn guesting once again.
According to AKB Josh, there's a two-year contact on the table for TOF
TOF still sees Dein every week, but Fynn points out how strange it is that TOF, with all his power - and now with Hill-Wood and most of the old guard gone, has never asked Dein back.
Fynn also made it clear that due to TOF's non-existent life outside Arsenal and now his non-existent marriage - and his daughter at university, there seems to be zero chance of him leaving unless he gets absolute pelters. The England job is a total red herring (as most of us here already know) as he craves daily activity - despite not actually doing anything of use - and we know he will never get this level of absolute power at any other club, so it does seem that we are stuck with him for the rest of his life unless we hound him out.
Sorry to say it, but deep down a lot of us know it
