THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm still in shock after he said that Giroud and Demba Ba were similar players! What was he thinking!

And equal on points with the mighty WBA and one point above the free spending Swansea - half way through the season and that is where we are at. And he does not have an ounce of shame. How can anyone, any longer defend that man?

Chelsea fans were chanting "Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay" yesterday.

Still won't be enough to make the AKB's wake up and smell the coffee though, I'm sure. Fucking sheep.

We're all aware of the love-in between the media and 'Arry Rednapp, but they seem almost as supportive of AW, albeit with a difference in tone. WOBs are characterised as being impatient and having short memories, while AW 'is doing a great job'.
I genuinely can't understand why he is given such an easy ride. Even when he got a few 'Crisis' headlines they soon disppeared once we'd scraped a win against some overreaching Championship side.
I can't think the manager of any other major club would be shown so much patience. No trophies for eight years! Whatever you think of him, any manager of a 'top' club would be attracting serious criticism.
As much as ex-players can often look like twats with an axe to grind when they start to complain, I think we need more of them to have a go at AW and for some momentum to build up in the media before the masses will start to want a change.

Wenger's fine idea: Arsenal stars face hefty penalties for range of offences ... and if they don't pay, boss sends for Mertesacker

Non attendance of unused players at Home matches without permission of manager £1000

Late for training < 15 mins £250, > 15 mins £500

Late for treatment/massage < 15 mins £250, > 15 mins £500

Late for travel £500

Late for match day meetings / meals £250

Wrong kit on match days £100

Inappropriate clothing outside of the dressing room £100

Outdoor shoes in the dressing room £100

Newspapers, laptops and phones in the medical room £100

Newspapers in dressing room £100

Non production of urine sample for two consecutive weeks £200

Phone calls in the building (texting allowed) £500

No participating in commercial activities (including Club Day) £500

Times are hard eh Arsene? This is a good way to boost your paypacket.
someone suggested a fine for impersonating a football player
