The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

this new TV deal is a joke.
ticket prices are being kept high whilst the players get paid ever more money
That's it! I'm f**king done with football for a while if this is true.

A f**king useless f**k earning 140K a week!!

Football is finished and I hope the f**k it soon eats itself
I've been saying this for years, football players at the top level earn grotesque amounts of money and it spoils football as a whole for me too.

What makes Theos wages more bizarre for me is the fact that Wenger hardly played him last season even when he was fit, so basically you're giving a SUB 140,000 a week :?

Absolutely agree lefty - unless he gets preferential treatment from here on, wally will NEVER be a first choice player imo because despite his blistering pace, he has neither the football intelligence nor the football technique to be a top class footballer.
In many ways I am sadder by his contract extension, than I was when denilson or the worlds greatest Danish striker extended their deals - with those players we were never going to lose out on much of a transfer fee cos they hadn't got that high profile, but with this clown we have now pissed away a potential £20m transfer fee as well as 140k per week

Theo gets his bumper contract for scoring 10 league goals in the last two years. Thank Fuck we tied him down again. :banghead:

He's not the complete package; we know that. But he's not as bad as some make out. He makes very intelligent, well timed runs and scores goals. The key is whether he can stay fit; something he's not managed throughout his Arsenal career.

I'm pleased he's staying, as I think we'd be worse off without him. Obviously, if you offered me an upgrade I'd take it (who wouldn't?) but I think he's a good option to have.

£140k is very steep for a player of his ability though. The Mirror were quoting £100k last week and I thought that was reasonable in today's market so his agents have played a blinder for him.

£140k is above what he's produced in an Arsenal shirt which sours the news a little. But never mind; I just hope that doesn't stop us signing a top class striker (assuming one is available and that we want one of course).

I'd pick ox ahead of him every day of the week and twice on a sunday - it worries me that wally staying is going to stunt ox's development cos I don't think that the ox is ready to play centrally yet therefore the wing is what suits him for now

Will just say yes ridiculous to be paying a squad member £140K a week, for a guy with no football brain or composure on the ball

But cannot blame Walcott for getting the best deal he can, on that score the lads done good

Who agrees and negotiates these contracts on behalf of Arsenal FC is more to the crux of the matter

I'd pick The Ox on the right too.

It's a puzzle really, because £140k is a hell of a lot of money for a player who doesn't seem to fit anywhere. He's not got the obvious tools to play as a lone striker week in, week out and his workrate and creativity aren't in the same league as The Ox on the right, so it's not clear where he fits in.

I'm happy he's staying though as a fit Theo scores goals. It's whether he can stay fit. :?

Walcott on £140k a week LOL
A guy that's only once in his career as an "attacker" scored over 10 league goals. Despite being at Arsenal almost 10 years!!! A guy who still isnt first choice for England, who are rubbish. A guy who thinks he's a number 9 but has never been deemed good enough to play there. His wages are reportedly double Pedro's  Pedro night not be great but he's a far superior Walcott!
£140k a week. Wenger pissing more Arsenal money up the wall, along with the £130k for Giroud.
Get rid of both and that's £270k a week, more than enough to pay Lewandowski and Javi Martinez every week.
Total joke!!!!

And this is a point that DB10 continually makes too - our wage bill is horrendous when you factor what it is delivering, but if it was managed properly it could be sustaining a lewandowski quality player on top wages instead of two average players earning more than they are worth

The Wally Walnutt mystery continues. Nearly £7m a year. What other clubs were after him? Not Chelsea City or Utd

Now he has that contract place your bets on when he gets his long term injury

Giroud + Walcott = £270k a week between them
The comedy comes in that neither of those players would get anywhere near the big clubs First 11s i.e Real, Barca, Bayern.
I saw Rummenigge of Bayern saying their wage structure meant nobody got more than €150k per week - so Theo is earning more than any Bayern player apparently. Yet he'd get nowhere near their squad!

For £270k a week, Wenger could pay Neymar.
Or Lewandowski.
Or Suarez.
Or Zlatan.
Or Aguero.
Or Benzema.
Or Modric.
Or Kroos.
Or Pogba.

And I'd much rather any of those players, than Arsenal's 2 bog-standard players.

I find it unbelievable you keep hearing other Gooners claim "Arsene can't afford the wages of the top players" when the evidence that he can more than afford it, keeps staring them in the face!
£270 fuckin K a week. I'd take Suker and Limpar over those 2 jokers ANY DAY FFS.
