basically we lost last night because we played a full strength side in Basel last week...And for what - a reward against Bayern Munich. And if we had lost, we would have played Barcelona next. Basically last weeks match was a complete irrelevance and I just knew that we would not have the resources to cope with 3 PL games in 10 days. This happens every single season!!!! :banghead: :banghead:
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
People bitching every year we don't win our group. This year we did and still got a sh#t draw. No win situation really.

The real problem is why we are unable to cope with 3 games in 10 days. Also how we never seem to learn from our mistakes. We let Everton cross a ball in and give the player a free header in between 2 defenders for the first goal. We then do almost exactly the same for the winner.
nothing to do with hindsight.
I called it on here on the night v Basel (even when we were winning)
The problem is that it is not 3 games in 10 days - by playing the top players v Basel that made it 4 games within 12 days.

Wenger was frustrated at the way his side conceded and said the players were guilty of "not respecting the rules" that were laid down in the preparations for the match.
"We started well and were in control of the game," he told Arsenal Media. "After that, we lost a bit of urgency and Everton made the game very physical.

Bloody cheats...playing like a cup game????

I'm actually looking forward to us dropping down to 5th/6th so performances can start to improve again. That's when we really come into our own playing our own brand of cup football actually behaving like things really matter,

The rules?? Aren't the rules the same for every game?? Maybe he means tactics, but he doesn't do tactics, so that statement is a real mystery.

Spoken like a true AKB, spinning the fact whilst ignoring that we actually performed quite poorly against most of the better sides.

It's not the defeat, it is the manner of the defeat. We have seen it so many times before and we are going to see it again. Come the end of Feb focus will turn to qualifying for CL, the league and CL exits will be long forgotten and 4th or above will be hailed as a success. And we'll get it, Wenger has a way of driving the team toward that. As I said, we have seen it all before.....

We deserve better.

Arsenal stars enjoy night out watching La Soiree as they try to banish the memories of Everton defeat

And here we are wondering why there's no discipline in the team... c_nts :banghead:

Seriously? The players go out with their wives to watch a show - hardly the infamous Tuesday Club.
There's a lot to get upset about Arsenal but this is well down the list IMO.

haha :D

I agree Nick, I see nothing wrong with that .... well except for the appalling fashions on display from the usual suspects who are trying a bit too hard to look stylish.

Still nothing tops Sol Campbell's appearance at the BAFTA's during his self imposed exile from the team. That was disgraceful

Why not defend that performance then? Why not defend your Lord and God Wenger's inactivity on the bench whilst the team he picked was beaten by a seriously shit Everton side? No, you'd rather just turn up every few weeks to have a pop at people that don't just blindly buy into the company line...

Agreed. I know football has changed but in many ways id be happy for the Tuesday club to re-appear and maybe produce some die for eachother style team spirit. Cant imagine Ozil or Giroud propping up the bar, smashed in a pub round North London at 1am though
