I don't doubt it, mate. He should have left in 2008 and he'd have been remembered fondly, even if he was a failure in Europe. In retrospect this is when the groundhog seasons began. Technically, he 'earned the right' for a few more years (yes, I'm holding down my puke too), but the mad old bastard decided to accelerate his crazy and unnecessary failed Project Youth, constantly citing the lie of austerity.falkirk goon wrote:Its been nearly 10yrs mate I can remember wanting him out as far back as then.
By 2011, that was it. No more fucking chances. That disgusting capitulation in the league and losing a cup final to a soon-to-be-relegated side was unforgivable. If that wasn't bad enough, we got the 8-2 and a dismal start to the 11-12 season and the following season, plus all the numerous throwing away of domestic cup ties. For what it's worth, there was no one day when I turned. I was always a sceptic and found it hard to buy in all of TOF's bullshit. In the glory days he had the players to mask his deficiencies and also had Dein who proved invaluable on transfers.
Since a little truth has seeped out from the club about 2006-11, it's clear that Project Youth and the resulting failures was entirely unnecessary and for that I will never forgive him. Despite all the false dawns, the old bastard will never change.
Thanks, mateClash wrote:Great post Sean
And the highlighted sentence is very well put.

I'd also add that the ball and chain's obsession with sideways football has made the last decade painful to watch on the pitch. Bad enough that we bottle it time and time again, but to watch that tortuous shit every week, littered with defensive lapses, really is something. It will never change. We will never learn. To have such an utter fraud of a manager say fuck all of use to the players; 'Go out and play your game', is an absolute scandal. Plus the crazy pre-arranged 70th minute substitutions where two of them are warming up at the 50th minute, basically guaranteeing they are the ones that are coming on. It's all so paint-by-numbers.
That utter fraud has had a God complex since 2004 and unlimited power since Dein left in 2007. Couple that toxicity with a passive or non-existent board and you have the last decade of wilful negligence and under-achievement.
Will he go at the end of the season? I have no faith that he will

When the day comes that we have an actual football manager in the Arsenal dugout again, I will enjoy it
