See this is the kind of thing that really fucks me off :banghead:

Wenger comes out and whinges there's nobody available, meanwhile other clubs snap up players we could have bought had we gone for them.

It's an absolute disgrace.
1144: FOOTBALL- BBC Sports Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Newcastle's Jose Enrique to have a medical at Liverpool after £6m fee agreed. Kenny Dalglish solves major problem at left-back."

Must be that monsterous fee of £6m that put the GIC off. So could have been Clichy out, Enrique in - £1m profit that paid for Campbell or Jenkinson depending on how you look at it.

And I think many would agree we would have strengthened that position at a profit.

Nope, instead lets play a guy who misses half of every season as first choice backed up by a left winger who has been a fucking disaster whenever we've played him at LB in cup games

£6m for Enrique eh ? Truly "dizzying prices"

Enrique is no world beater by any means but he would certainly be a big upgrade in that position than anybody currently in our squad :(

Exactly and then he wonders why we get so angry!

If we dont go out and sign Leighton Baines in the next 24 hours I'm going to go and riot outside wenger's house :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Also since all these clubs now know we have circa £60m in our skyrocket they will hold out for "market prices", not "wenger valuations" therefore wenger wont pay it and WE lose out.

Whereas if Wenger had done his Mata, Cahill and or Samba deals early doors we could have got em for a decent price, having a temporary deficiet until we sold Nasrigas.

However he's done it the other way round and sold nasrigas 2 days before the start of the season, and now needs to spend that £60m.

Personally I think we can comfortably handle toon this weekend with the team we have, but if he does NOT spend ALL of the money next week then its a 6th place finish for us.

BBC are saying "According to a senior Arsenal source, all the funds generated by Fabregas's sale will be reinvested in new players."

Presumably the Narsi money will go into the Boards jolly nice lunch fund...

If not Arsenal with £60m to spend, can you imagine the prices other clubs will be quoting.

Maybe GIC will die of a heart attack

Let's be sensible for a second, Wenger NEVER brings in 6 or 7 players at a time so don't think he will bring in Dann, Mata and Cahill as well as Gerv, Oxo and Jenkinson. The best I think will happen is Dann and Mata. He'll say Ramsey and Wilshere cover for Fab.

Everyone that thinks wenger will sign replacements for nasri and cesc are fucking mad!

Even with these 2 going he wont sign a player of the same standard and that’s for certain.

He will put faith in Mr Miyagi and oxtail soup, maybe sign another kid and Dann on the cheap

THE MATA DEAL IS DEAD! He fucked that one up 2 weeks ago

Then pocket a huge bonus to buy more rides for his never land ranch

Well exactly - thats the only way Newcastle ever got 35m for Carroll. They knew Liverpool had sold Torres and had a week or so to sign a striker.....woosh, a 15m-20m player suddenly doubles in value.

If the GIC thought people were playing hardball on prices before then what next ? The Fabregas sale is massive news in Spain, and cash strapped Valencia all of a sudden will want £25m or more for Mata. So how have we gained by playing a waiting game.

Poor show Arsenal FC, poor poor show

I'd honestly like to think that potential players have been sounded out and that contact was made a while ago about prices etc.

Don't think that because it's not been reported in the media that it hasn't been happening....

....OK i'm being hopeful!!

You might well be right mate and I hope to god you are, but its still a bit un-nerving that deals haven't been completed before we've made these sales. Unless the agreements are locked down there's always scope for the selling club to start haggling on the price. Perhaps they did discuss Mata, Jagielka etc but there's nothing to stop their clubs claiming more money for them know backed up by an argument that they themselves are now running out of time to sign replacements.

Nobody will ever convince me that our 'last minute dash' approach to transfers is better than the approach United took with De Gea, Jones and Young

Just to add to this, even if we do have replacements lined up, they're never going to be done and dusted before the Newcastle game and that could cost us a vital three points and a good confident start to the season.

Further to that, it could cost us confidence for a vital match against Udinese next week.
