THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Pleased to meet you sir! I agree with you that Wenker is an absolute fraud who has lied to his fans and mismanaged this club to the point it has become an absolute joke to fans of other clubs.

Regarding your question, I believe that this will be the year Spurs finish above us. Looking at the cold hard facts, they have been climbing up the league and strengthening their position amongst the big clubs, with a vibrant young manager who is probably the next big thing in English football. Compared to us who have stood still with our dinosaur in charge, i fear it will come home to roost this season as we were damn lucky last season :(

I don't think I've read a John Cross article before as I've never bought the mirror and any articles linked on here always say he's talking shite. I've therefore never bothered before as I thought it would just annoy me. I also thought people on here must be exaggerating but having read the above article it turns out he is as much of a Wenger arse-licker as is made out.

'the fans haven't had it so good' -we're still in Europe, the F.A cup and 3rd in the league you ungrateful bastards! Equal on points with 2nd place don't ya know (although Cross neglects to mention we are also 9 pts behind 1st, soon to be 12). We've only won 14 games out of 23 which is pretty pathetic.

How anyone thinks Wenger is doing a good job is beyond me. (But he must be as we're ahead of Mourinho and Gaurdiola  )
I'm going to revert back to not reading any John Cross articles!

Arsene Wenger has revealed his admiration for N'Golo Kante and admits he tried to sign the Frenchman twice.

Does he expect credit for this? Tried twice and failed twice you useless old duffer

He is quoted as saying "We cannot explain everything - transfers are transfers - but it is quite obvious when you look at where he has gone."
I assumed this means we didn't want to pay his wages and that Wenger's valuation of a players worth is miles away from reality.

Good piece from Chris Sutton although in all honesty it's nothing that hasn't been said before but it is becoming more commonly said in recent weeks:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38848571

The stats for the 'top 6' teams should be damning enough but i wish he'd expanded on it and given the same stats over just the last 5 years to give it more perspective :rubchin:

Actually that's the problem i have with most of the pundits, they always pull their punches at the last minute and never carry through with the full facts and impact of whats gone on consistently at our club for so long under this manager :banghead:

Chris Sutton is a *word censored*. I fucking hate him but what he's saying is true. The sad part is that the press should have been making these points about six years or more ago.

Another one to add to the fantasy 11 of Wenger tried to signs
