All told Arsenal are of course still the bigger club - bigger stadium, far bigger total trophy haul, success in every era, larger global fanbase (not so sure about domestic these days). However, Chelsea will very soon have won FOUR league title since Arsenal last won one, not to mention the CL success. So of casual fans in their teens or early 20s today would of course assume (shortsightedly) that Chelsea are the bigger team.
Four league titles, though. It's worrying to say the least.

Occurred to me that everyone, even the vast majority of his critics, always seems to assume these defeats are "devastating" for Wenger. That he cares so much. Maybe he doesn't. Maybe he stopped caring three, four, five years ago and has just been chilling and enjoying his bumper salary. Maybe taken us all for an even bigger ride than we thought. In his post match interviews I see a man who hates criticism, and likes praise, but I don't think the defeats get to him any more. He knows his team is second rate - he sees them every day. There's nothing devastating losing to a far better team(s) as far as he's concerned.
