IMO it is a massive achievement to be so consistently qualifying for the CL, Fergie couldn't do it and neither has anyone else for that matter. Everyone who has won one says it takes a little luck and without doubt if we had of had a bit of luck that night in Paris he may well have won one
rjw1985, welcome to the forum, and since you like stating Wenger's record, let me offer you some alternative Wenger record's:
Since the invincible's, we have finished 2nd twice( one of those was to Leicester, and the other was in 2005).
We have won 3 trophies(all FA cups) in the past 13 years.
In Europe, we have been a shambles, and are facing into the probability of being knocked out of the CL at the last 16 stage, for the 7th year in a row.
Let's not forget, the embarrassing results at OT, Stamford Bridge, Anfield etc, in the last few years.
To say that Wenger is finished as a top class manager, is an understatement.
rjw - great to have you on board and as a couple of others have said, very different opinions are healthy, otherwise you end up with "groupthink". As I said on here only a couple of days ago, I respect anyone who argues their case with passion and conviction.
There is no point me rehashing the points that the majority, with whom I agree, have already made about Wenger. He was exactly the right man for Arsenal when he was appointed in 1996. But so, a decade earlier, had George Graham been, and it is ironic that some of those longer-standing Gooners who are instinctively clinging on to AW (and yes, there are still a few in that category!) were exactly the same people who warned us against replacing George on the pretext of his misdemeanours when in realilty he was in any case losing his magic hat and the team was stagnating. Within three years Wenger had transformed the Club's fortunes and his achievements over the first ten years vindicated the vision of the club in making such a bold and imaginative move. That is the kind of action this club sorely needs now.
You may be content for us to flatline in fourth place every year, but the majority of us want and expect more for Arsenal, especially when we were sold the vision of the move to the Emirates with its stratospheric ticket prices as enabling us to compete with the cream of European as well as English football. Even another FA Cup win this season will not cut the mustard, I am afraid. We should have replaced Wenger at least six years ago when it was clear he had run out of ideas, certainly three years ago once it was also clear that the smokescreen of the financial constraints caused by the move to the new stadium were no longer providing an excuse for under-achievement. I don't blame him for not walking out on a 8.5 million a year job; though for me the price he has paid is his legacy and, to a certain extent, his reputation. I wish him no ill, but I will not take part in any *****-fest of appreciation when the glorious day finally arrives. Au Revoir et Bon Chance is about all he deserves now, I am afraid.

He rattles off a list of the trophies wenker won to back up his nonsense about being the most successful manager we have ever had, but he totally fails to mention the fact that he has had FAR longer as manager than any of his predecessors, and his actual trophies per season ratio wouldn't even have him in the top 3 most successful managers in our history
GG built the best defense in the history of English football, and it was that defense that was the main ingredient of wenger's early successes with our club
If we take this season for examples of Wengers mis management we have Utd away, playing a right footed central midfielder Ramsey as a left winger and with a broken toe and when it was clear it was not working keeping him on.Liverpool at home claimed the team wasn't ready why not? No, What IS "Poo" is that wenger the arrogant, fuckwit, narcissistic, despotic, fraudulent, lying cun.t hasn't fuckedoff yet and allowed the club to regain its Honour and Semblence as a Football Club with over a 100 year history, a club in which the players aren't treated like pussified softcunts and are called upn and told in no uncertain terms to actually wear the shirt with pride that the name on the front is far bigger and more important than the name on the back and that they must fight with every last breath and ounce of energy in every game.
You know - Just like Adams, Bergkamp, Henry, Winterburn, Dixon, Bould, Campbell,Wrighty and Parlour used to do.
