2 years ago we were linked with him and I was seriously pissed off.Percy Dalton wrote:Sky saying Kalou is still an Arsenal target!
However, things are so bad now with The Camel and Super Quality as our reserve strikers that I'd actually welcome his signing. At least he's played in this country and has got a bit of pace. Not good enough for the Arsenal of even 2 years ago, but in a world where we sign players from Charlton and Southampton, and mid-table shite from France.....he'd actually improve the squad. Sad but true

Agreed!

I have been crying out for quality replacements into our squad for 3 seasons now but if a 34 year old henry, kalou, park, shitatchi, gervinho and chamakh are the type of replacements we are gonna keep on getting then I would rather we signed no fcuker tbh
I am embarrassed at where our club is now and the decline in our standards

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think Gervinho is/would be better as a CAM/AM rather than a striker/forward. His set up play is quite good its just his shooting is fucking woeful at times.augie wrote:I have been crying out for quality replacements into our squad for 3 seasons now but if a 34 year old henry, kalou, park, shitatchi, gervinho and chamakh are the type of replacements we are gonna keep on getting then I would rather we signed no fcuker tbh![]()

Ba has been hot for about a half season in England. I remember one Sammy Nasri looking like a god by about this time last year.
Not the guaranteed quality signing that some make him out to be. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great player, but it's still very early days.
Why can't Arsenal just buy a decent, experienced, known quantity? Get us a Zamora or Saha or other middle-quality player and we'd be way better off.

Be careful what you wish for.....and I think you meant super quality, not middle quality.Barriecuda wrote:Ba has been hot for about a half season in England. I remember one Sammy Nasri looking like a god by about this time last year.

Once players come back from injury, you cannot argue that Arsenal will have a very strong squad (As Wenger has been saying), HOWEVER, to say that AFC does not need any new additions is just mental.
My only hope is RVP doesn't look at this transfer window and make his decision on his future. I genuinely believe he wants to stay, but come on. If you were arguably the best striker in the world and you are getting grossly under paid AND you weren't winning trophies, would you not want to move to a better team?

At the risk of being labelled racist I have to say that I have concerns about signing african players - obviously the acn plays a part in that but a few of them have struck me as being all about the money and as soon as they get their big wages they stop putting in the effort.
The mystery continues
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has claimed that Demba Ba's release clause is actually around half the £10m mooted over the weekend, which could be set to spark a transfer frenzy.
Full story: Daily Mirror
Now of course, the HMRC know exactly how accurate Harry's numbers are, so could be bullshit, but if this guy is really available for £5m ???
What a 'dizzying' price
