Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
Top post Dan-85.
Why would anybody clap? It was not a trick, an illusion, they burnt to death having gone to the football, worse they died publically, in the most horrific fashion. I wouldn't want any "recognition" from Hull & Arsenal 29 years later, but y'know, a silence would be so much more appropriate.
From one of our forums today-"Stafford" was our much loved Chairman who we forgave rather than blamed.
A minute's applause is totally inappropriate. Applause is to recognise an achievement or some milestone. Believe you me, the events of May 1985 are nothing to applaud. I was 23 and in the stand. I decided to go to the back but near the corridor I had to turn back because of the crush. I jumped over the wall and ran away. I didn't pull anyone else over. I wasn't a hero. 56 people were lost. Dozens were horribly injured. Hundreds were hurt and perhaps thousands were traumatised. It destroyed Stafford both mentally and physically. We nearly lost VP for ever. What is there to applaud? The only time I could be persuaded to 'applaud' those events would be if it was clearly something to recognise the bravery of the emergency services, the doctors and nurses at the BRI Burns Unit and the strength of the people of Bradford of which I count myself as a proud member.

I bet that *word censored* Huddlestone scores the winner
Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
I'm going for 2-1 AET, with the Great Abou scoring the winner

And 25,000 odd joining together for an emphatic rendition of "One Arsene Wenger" before The Dear Leader comes out to sign his new contract in the centre circle. What a glorious day it shall be.SteveO 35 wrote:I'm going for 2-1 AET, with the Great Abou scoring the winner

The trophyless jibes, taunts, piss takes from the media and oppo fans, the 9 barren years, the "Emirates hasn't seen a trophy yet" talk, all of the pain we had to suffer, it could all come to an end today. TODAY!
Fuck I'm a bag of nerves. Please don't fuck it up Arsenal.

It's 2am, cant sleep. Feel nervous but not sick nervous. Just watching that video again. It defo gives you goosebumps.
Cut out the wenger jibes today lads, this is a massive day in our history and there's no need for negative energy. We all have to pull together, we will outnumber them 2 to 1 in the stadium, lets use this to our advantage and make Wembley a cauldron of noise.
I am looking forward to my first beer in Baker Street later this morning, funny how beers calm the nerves. COYG.

I'm taking Vicodin to help aid my sleep tonight, no way in hell I'll doze off otherwise.
The worst thing is I have an appointment which means I have to record the match; I'll be fretting the whole time wondering whats going on and cooking up dreadful scenarios.

Nearly 10 am here. I stayed up playing golf on the WI thingy until 5 am, so I could get some shut eye later and be fresh for tonight. Like a dog with two tails. My first final miss since 1978. Got four stubby's and two boxes of Carlton in the fridge.
4-0 I say, and spam the forum anyway.
Have a great day Gooners.
WENGER OUT
Edit: it's being shown live on the telly. Can't believe it. No dodgy streams needed. This day just gets better.
