Everton away match thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

After getting raped down the wings at Goodison last year I was interested to see what AW's masterplan would be this year.

Play an unfit, uninterested and out of position Ozil on the left, covering our second-string LB against Lukaku and nobody out wide against Mirallas. Genius.

Also, it was clear how Everton were going to try and make chances while AW's instructions appear to have been "pass it a million times and wait for something to happen". After all, possession wins matches doesn't it?

Jack has done nothing in any match this season and I'm starting to despair of Ozil.

Finally, something I raised many times last season, our movement off the ball, particularly in the area, is woeful. A passing team needs players to pass to.

Still a point at Everton is always a good one.

If you offered me a point before the match I'd have taken it. I'm pleased with the comeback but obviously we must stop conceding silly goals.

Urgent need for reinforcements so I hope we deal with Besiktas or they ain't coming.

Should Ospina be considered since they had 2 shots on target and we conceded 2 goals?

Thought draw was deserved , partly because Everton were not as good as Martin Tyler was prating on about. We did show character but not enough quality.
For what it's worth I thought both fullbacks had reasonable games going forward , Chambers looked good at times and raw at times but that is ok he has a lot of learning to do. Santi proved when he came on that his playing out wide in Turkey was a crass waste of talent. Giroud's introduction proves that we need to play with a proper centre forward, whether that is Giroud or not is another debate. Having said that I thought he done well today and further highlighted that Sanogo is not a quality striker.
Any ideas what happened with Sanchez ? Thought his control and commitment were good in first half. Ozil sleep- walked through the game. Maybe he like Mert wasn't 100% fit , but I would want more from him. Ramsey was poor but showed that we depend so much on his goals from midfield. Jack is an accident waiting to happen, probably a red card type of accident.
The referee and the far side linesman were a disgrace, the linesman got more than their goal wrong. The ref missed an obvious foul on Mert in the build up. He also denied us when he failed to allow advantages to us on two occasions.
Like many I would have taken a point at the start, and was delighted with one at the end but feel that the game was there to be won and we could maybe even should have done so.
Finally Naismith is the most annoying little cheating :censored: . Wants cheap frees at every opportunity and constantly whinges at ref.

Campbell looked lost out there.
Not the way I saw it...Looked quite lively to me and I think he's a good option off of the bench.
Don't get me wrong. I was happy to see Campbell come on. But every time he got the ball he lost it. That being said we do need to see more of him. He was dangerous in the WC.

You can't blame the outcome of the game by that one call, when the team didn't show up for the entire first half. They didn't really get going until th 80th minute. Someone has to step up and give their teammates hell. This team is still soft yet again.

If you are two goals down with ten minutes to go and you get a draw then it's a point gained but it doesn't disguise the fact that we didn't look good enough for long periods. It's annoying to see the same routines and same build-up play year after year but I suppose I'm used to it now. It's probably a forlorn hope, but the last days of the transfer window need to be about getting a bloody striker that can score goals, attack the box and a midfielder that will sit in and stop us getting overrun everytime we go away.

If Wenger cant see what we can its going to be another sleepwalk to 4th place but as we all know that is his number 1 priority

We need a commanding DM and a world class striker. When i hear Gooners praising the average Giroud and the unproven Campbell i wonder really what is the ambition of some of our fans is.Are you really happy with those two?

Today we got out of jail again but the performance stank Wilshere had another stinker
