This is the problem because of poor results overall lately. Wenker wont know his best team he will tinker, and we know what that means. Unless we win big on against the baggies.

Listen, we are playing especially shit at the mo and we look like a team that is already on their hols, but I still say that there is no way we lose this. It might be a close 2-1 or 3-1 with the third goal coming late in the game but we will be victorious and I have no doubts about that. It probably wont be much of a game to watch cos even when we score early in games we seem unable to kick on

People are understandably nervous given our last few performances, but that is totally ignoring villa's performances and shortcomings - they are a team fighting relegation all season and just last week they conceded 6 against Southampton so really they aren't all that either. Everyone keeps pointing at benteke as our main cause of concern but I don't agree - for me delph is the guy that concerns me most because he is the guy that makes them tick. He isn't the best player ever but he brings real tempo to their game and gets their players and fans fired up, plus he will be the guy that will try to disrupt our playmakers like cazorla and ozil.

Maybe our recent results will be a good thing for the cup final, as we wont go into the game being arrogant, and thinking it's already won. On the other hand if you start off with szczesney in goals, then your already at a disadvantage. I'm going for a nervy 2-1 win.

It will depend on the line-up....if clueless does go with the likes of the gobby pole and gibbs they will score - how many - ??/ Even one is too many....

the Villans will be so up for this especially with tiny tim egging them on and how they can leave their mark on The Arsenal...it could get very ugly very quickly....Big Fuckin Girly is so slow - Agbonglahor will leave him for dust...also Dame is tough, quick and inventive - We will need to be on our toes from the firsts whistle - or we could get bumholed by what are a 2nd rate team at best..........

Can you imagine if manure or the chavs were in the final?...their managers would have them so fired up...clueless will most likely have them all in flotation tanks the night before the game... :?

If we do win this..it will be down to the players no the manager. I may detest Wenger but I so want us to win this.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not confident of winning this based on the majority of performances since Liverpool at Easter.
Have to be honest, I think even a tired off-form Giroud has more chance of scoring than a fully fit Welbeck. :| We need to sign a top top striker this summer. It has to be a priority. But of course it won't be.

I too think we are in real danger of getting beaten by Villa. They have nothing to lose, the cup final is a bonus, they will enjoy it but they will be pumped up too. We are sluggish, burnt out looking, off form and bereft of ideas. We also have a manager that will watch all of that and do nothing but fuck about with his coat and look bemused. :(

Neither are good enough to be first choice in a title challenging team but they are what we have and for this once off game I would go for Welbeck over Giroud. Giroud is too static in the box and too erratic outside it. Welbeck is no Henry or Wright but the way Arsenal play I think he gives a better option in the box with his movement.
While I agree neither are good enough to challenge for the title with, Welbeck for me is too loose with his first touch for our style of play. The ball gets pinged into his feet and it bounces a yard clear of him, then he has to lunge in to try and recover control, by which time the defender has cleared it. Giroud has a vastly superior first touch to Welbeck. how many times this season have we watched Welbeck sprint around getting on the end of nothing and losing possession and then Wenger brings Giroud on and it suddenly clicks and we create chances? Agree Welbeck is faster, more agile and has better movement but all of that is let down by his poor first touch and sloppy control.

I'm shitting it cos as usual I have no clue what Arsenal will turn up .
If it's the barca lite slow tiki tak it could be a very long day.
Arsenal have a history of choking of late but in the past we had a history of winning the hard way !
I hope it's the latter ! :barscarf:

Reading some of these posts it would seem some posters think Arsenal are playing Barcelona rather than Aston Villa.

Have a look at the league table, where did Villa finish.

As for current form, didn't Southampton just beat Villa 6-1, yes that's right 6-1!!!!

Sherwood a tactical genius?......do me a favour he plays one way, high energy attacking game, perfect for Arsenal.

If we were playing the Dog & Duck most on here would make a case for Arsenal losing.

This won't be an easy match and I wouldn't expect a game against a premiership or even a championship team to be easy, but I expect Arsenal to win the final against Villa.

With all due respect I think the fears of fans are about Arsenal and not Villa.. Yes we should beat them comfortably but there is a concern as Herd says about which Arsenal turn up. I am not pessimistic about the final but I am concerned and fearful that we will lose this was a passive performance. If league points and positions mattered why did we fail to beat Sunderland ?

Yeah and last year was Hull and we nearly fucked that up.

I was over confident last year and didn't see Hull scoring never mind going 2 up in 10 minutes but far more edgy about this. You never know, hopefully the Villa that has been shite the majority of the season is the one that turns up
