Fair enough it's not a priority but we would have been in the last 8 with a fantastic chance of winning the thing. We are certainly in no position to be snobby about trophies and attitudes certainly wouldn't have been the same had we not chucked it away in 2007 or bottled it in 2011.

Arsenal were humiliated playing against a lower division club , regardless of the competition, the absentees and the injuries suffered on the night it is a big deal. It was important enough for 5,000 fans to travel a long distance on a Tuesday night to.

Come on people - none of the big teams want the distraction of this tournament.

we have more of a chance to win this than the CL, plus this competition is over in feb anyway

You think they'd rather be out? That's rubbish - whilst it's not a priority and players might be rested it's only another 4 games to win a trophy.

Have to agree. For me, I have become a bit "meh" about this competition and it's not as disappointing to be knocked out of it as say the FA Cup, but tbh I'd rather be in it than not, and I'd rather win it than not.

Whether the youngsters were ready or not, that back 4 was made up entirely of international players playing against an OK championship side....and they folded like a deck of cards. Next time Debuchy spends a transfer window wondering about whether he should go or not, can someone call the taxi for the airport and I'll pick up the fare - paceless and gormless, the bloke is an absolute joke and a criminal waste of money

Heard some shit about how crazy it was to risk the likes of Theo and the Ox.....yeah, like they never pick up injuries in PL or CL games !

Oh well, its only the League Cup so what with us being such a massive club and trophy laden this past decade we can afford to stick two snobby fingers up at it and concentrate on the more winnable Champions League

Absolutely spot on. It was shameful. We have bottled this trophy too many times under this manager.

Am I wrong in saying that the last two winners of this trophy went on to win the premier League in the same season ?...

Maybe they don't, but what's that got to do with us?

It was 7 years ago burnley in the league cup
They came up to the premier league the following season

And by that logic, we lost a cup final to Birmingham who got relegated a few weeks later

Would you put him up there with, say, Giroudzema? :rubchin:
