Don't know how true this is but would tick all my boxes. Especially at that price!

Arsenal ready to move for £3million Distin.
Arsenal Football Club are ready to make a move for Sylvain Distin.

Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his back four during the January transfer window, and he has identified his French compatriot for a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The former Manchester City ace is plying his trade under former Gunners star Tony Adams at Portsmouth, and Wenger is hoping an offer of £3million will be enough to land the 31-year-old.

Meanwhile, Distin has voiced his concerns that Pompey are facing a serious fight to hang on to their Premier League status, as they hover just three points above the danger zone.

"We are in a relegation battle right now. It's not an enjoyable position," he told the Portsmouth News. “There is no point crying about it. We have to work hard to get out of this position.â€

Nigel Brown on Sport.co.uk reckons:

Brazil and Inter Milan winger Mancini is up for sale after a poor start to his Inter career, according to reports in Italy. The winger has failed to repeat the consistent form he showed for AS Roma, and Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to listen to offers for the player, with Chelsea and Arsenal the front runners. Mancini was the former Porto manager's first signing at Inter and cost £10 million.

i would like this to happen micah richards for £7m. young, quick, strong, good in the air. Im still not sure where his best position is cb/rb/cdm? Would be a nice to see a defender come in. I would prefer upson but i dont think we could afford him.

MICAH RICHARDS FOR ARSENAL
Arsene Wenger ready to make move for Manchester City defender

ARSENE WENGER will make a £7million raid for England defender Micah Richards.

And sources close to the Arsenal boss claim he is supremely confident of landing the unsettled Manchester City star.

Wenger has been a huge admirer of Richards since the 20-year-old burst on to the Premier League scene three years ago. And he had been sizing up a swoop before Richards signed a new five-year deal 12 months ago.

The idea of Richards going for as little as £7m would have been unthinkable then but a poor run of form has left City looking for experienced top-class defenders in the transfer window.

Wenger believes he can resurrect Richards’ career — and his 2010 World Cup hopes with England — at a price that does not break the bank.

Thanks for addding this link RTP.

Am excited by this possibility.

OK, Richards is overweight and his confidence is down, but a move to play for the team he supports, plus some man management by Wenger, could and should revitalise a good talent.

Centre Back partnership with Djourou is a exciting one, plus Richards would offer right back cover.

I think he may also end up as a defensive midfielder. I know he has seldom if ever played there, but i think he has it in his game to make a success of that position.

You must take your Djourou coloured specs off once in a while. This would only be exciting in the same way that "Speed" was, teetering on the brink every 2 or 3 minutes.

Just trying to keep you honest on a Sunday Quartz 8)

iv tryed to avoid this section as seeing names like Micah richards and Mancini jus gets my hopes up eventhough im sure they will be shattered. We MIGHT sign arshavin and some 10yr old wonder kid from madupistan but im sure that will be it. Wenger has given hints that he doesnt care about this transfer window so neither do I :banghead:
