The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Chelsea don't want to pay Roma £30m for Dzeko or pay his basic salary of £90k-a-week, so why would they want to sign Giroud (who is the same age) for £35m and have to pay him £180k per week?

Especially if it means accommodating Laca in the team. I feel sorry for him (Laca that is), he has been let down by Ozil and Sanchez playing tippy tappy between themselves. Let's see what he is made of now.Kingralph wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 10:36 amUntil Mr 30 years plays him as a left winger....nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 9:28 amIf we sign Aubameyang I will be buzzing personally. There's not a lot to cheer these days being a gooner, but he is quality and we will have done more than enough to replace sanchez. Bring it on.
Laddies are the only bookie quoting transfer odds 1.1 now (1/10) earlier this morning they were 1.4.

sounds like this transfer has some way to go yet, people on twitter celebrating already, we've got two days left and we're only close to agreeing a fee, with dortmund waiting on finding a replacement. and where are they going to get a replacement?
honestly if we're doing this just chuck them giroud

Yeah, all looking good in the rumour mill but until I see it on .com I can't get my hopes too high.

Still laughing at Chelsea.
Have the old Arsenal scouts gone to them?

How weird is this, we get rid of Giroud to Chelski they let Batman go to Dortmund. No wonder Conte is pissed off.
As others have said, it's only agreed in principle. Arsenal are capable of manufacturing this situation in the knowledge they have no chance of getting their man. More spin than the Labour party!

Have we offered the additional £10 book token, book of Green Shield stamps and some marbles for Aubameyang yet. Or do they still want our best conker? Either way I'm sure our highly skilled commercial negotiators are all over it working day and night with the club's best interests at heart

WTF is this ‘depending on....’ bullshit? When do you hear ANY other club being involved in a transfer like that? If you are prepared to sell you do it, then deal with other things. This is going to end up one huge embarrassment for FARCEnal. Any excuse not to spend any money. C.unts.

I think a lot of the deal was done sooner than announced anyway; I believe Dortmund's hardball stance has a lot to do them being on the stock market and not wanting to look weaker and whatnot.

£35 million being quoted for Giroud WTF is this really happening ??Henry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 5:17 pmsounds like this transfer has some way to go yet, people on twitter celebrating already, we've got two days left and we're only close to agreeing a fee, with dortmund waiting on finding a replacement. and where are they going to get a replacement?

the fact that we're contemplating letting not just sanchez and walcott go in the same window but giroud too tells you we haven't got a clue what we're doing, happy to see good replacements come in but to start a rebuilding job like this in january is just....weird. not like us at all, tells me that wenger doesn't have as much of a say in our business as we did but more worrying that we're shipping strikers but letting welbeck stay, could we even find a suitor for him if we had to?Redarmy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 7:35 pm£35 million being quoted for Giroud WTF is this really happening ??Henry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 5:17 pmsounds like this transfer has some way to go yet, people on twitter celebrating already, we've got two days left and we're only close to agreeing a fee, with dortmund waiting on finding a replacement. and where are they going to get a replacement?

I think they know the season is a write off, we’re guaranteed 6th place at least so why not start the rebuild now, who knows it might pay off and we come a staggering 5th.Henry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 7:40 pmthe fact that we're contemplating letting not just sanchez and walcott go in the same window but giroud too tells you we haven't got a clue what we're doing, happy to see good replacements come in but to start a rebuilding job like this in january is just....weird. not like us at all, tells me that wenger doesn't have as much of a say in our business as we did but more worrying that we're shipping strikers but letting welbeck stay, could we even find a suitor for him if we had to?Redarmy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 7:35 pm£35 million being quoted for Giroud WTF is this really happening ??Henry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 5:17 pmsounds like this transfer has some way to go yet, people on twitter celebrating already, we've got two days left and we're only close to agreeing a fee, with dortmund waiting on finding a replacement. and where are they going to get a replacement?

With regard welbeck I don’t think we could shift him for a fee imo, he will eventually go on a free.
Anyhow I still don’t believe the Aubameyang deal is going to happen, after all this is Arsenal.

I would rather keep hold of Giroud until the summer.
£35m for an inconsistent 31 year old striker isn't a bad deal, though.
Spitballing here but David Luiz is out of favour at Chelsea and we could do with a CDM.

We were involved in the same shit with Sanchez last deadline day. The deal was done with City but it was all dependant on us getting Lemar.TeeCee wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 7:00 pmWTF is this ‘depending on....’ bullshit? Of course as we'd let it go to the last fucking second and Lemar was playing for France the same night the whole thing went tits up.
So yeah it does happen on occasion but only when Banter FC are involved.
