As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Because success on the pitch is NOT Arsene's and the boards primary focus. Their primary focus is to run a money making business. Of course they want to win and will try to win, but they won't speculate to win.

Yes man citeh spent £38 million on him. But:
- Top quality striker coming into the prime of his career
- Fans absolutely buzzing/Feelgood factor
- Two quality goals which create headlines in the papers - positive press
- Sponsorship deals for club & player
- Goals which win you titles, competitions -> Prize money for the club, happy fans, happy sponsors
- Commercial revenue for club, shirt sales etc.
So yes you outlay £38 million, but you get that money back in so many other ways other than just "buying a player".
World class players win you games, which win you trophies, which makes you money.
Why does nobody at Arsenal see that?
City buy ready made quality we sign 17 year olds and some bloke from Costa coffee. We will have £70m to spend by the end of this week but are haggling over the price for Cahill and Jagielka

top post, teecee. you just summarized arsenal there.
In this very dark time to be a Gooner mr wenger has given us the news we have all been waiting for.............bendtner might be staying after all Surprisingly enough nobody seem's to want to buy the *word censored* but dont worry cos according to le boss he has looked very sharp in training
Agree, fuck scott parker. Completely overrated and overpriced. We should be trying to bring diarra back to the club but then that would mean wenger admitting he got something wrong so we're stuck with song and frimpong.
Wengers probably holding off spending any more money until he knows we have qualified for the CL. If we go out, it will cost us 25m so the Cesc money will offset that and he'll spend maybe 5m on an unknown CB. If we qualify, then I expect him to spend around 20m on two players.

Or
A new 5 year £100,000 per week deal for Emmanuel Frimpong

Everything rosey in the Wenger garden, no need to spend...
13 players out for around 35 mill 3 (1 French league and 2 Div 1 players under 21 ) in for 21 mill I thought lot of our problems last year was a lack of a squad and experiance now we are even worse what the fuck is going on at least we are 14 mill+ in profit .
