THE WENGER THREAD

He hasn't yet had a full season with them and while they are still very erratic and defensively suspect they have improved under him to the extent that in that short time they have got to a Europa Cup Final, EFL Final and are now banging on the door for a top four spot. He also has a very decent record against the big teams since taking over.

Wenger's trajectory has been going slowly but surely in the opposite direction over the past decade (or decayed!), and his record against the top teams in recent years is abysmal.

I agree that the jury is out on whether Klopp can take them further, but it has long since concluded that Wenger has passed his sell-by date.
Totally agree. Klopp will take maybe 3 years to start getting the best out of liverpool. The first half of this season has raised expectations too high

No Way...also said he's not looking for any other job, rather sensible i would think, as he will be judged and assessed on progress anywhere else :D

Miserable, dejected, fed-up, uninterested, snapping at the questions about his future... he's at the end and he knows it. I still can't help but feel sorry for him to some degree (and how much he gets paid has fuck all to do with it), but at the end of the day he's done it to himself :|

He's getting heat from Gazidis who is fed up with Le Duffer and has been using the time factor to pressure Wenger into signing on or signing off rather than the Wenger leave it to the last moment which is what Wenger has done and has got away with before .
There must be some squeaky bums twitching on the Wenger Gravy train not least of which will be Mr Dick Law and the enigmatic Primo Bomorac not to mention Steve Bould ,Gerry Peyton,Shad Forsythe,Tony Colbertt, and a plethora of other minor staff places too.
All are yes men who are handsomely rewarded !

Don't feel sorry for him. It's all of his own making.

Jose Mourinho accused Mesut Ozil of being 'a coward' who thinks '50 per cent is enough' in an explosive dressing room row at Real Madrid.
Arsenal playmaker Ozil, 28, has revealed the details of his relationship with the Manchester United manager – and an insight into his famous temper.
The Germany midfielder, who played under Mourinho for three years at the Bernabeu, says his boss called him out for thinking 'beautiful passes' were his only responsibility.

Wengers reaction is to sulk and ignore the players, in fact give them a few days off. What a hopeless manager he is

As I type I'm watching an episode of "Tipping Point" where Ben Shephard has just asked an old biddy

"In 2014, Jose Mourinho described which other football manager as a 'specialist in failure'?"

Despite the fact she clearly isn't interested in football, she did not hesitate to give the right answer.

Let's hope he really has reached the tipping point.

He is just churning out the same old passive/aggressive bullshit again, just like a girlfriend that you are trying to leave,"you'll miss me if you dump me,""I could have left you loads of times," "I've had plenty of offers," etc, etc, etc.

He is definitely wanting to stay....hes not that stupid, he wants to stay, but the club can refuse him a contract, which is unlikely

defiant Wenger said: "My preference [staying at Arsenal] is always the same, it will remain the same.

"I am not looking for jobs of other clubs or jobs of other people.

"I am just focusing on getting to the next level and try to improve.

"Competent managers always try to get better, to reinvent themselves.

"My preference has always been Arsenal but I am objective enough to make the right decision for myself and the club itself.

"The club can also make their decision if it wants and I will respect that."
