As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I disagree - I don't think we will - and should we somehow manage to - it will mean Wenger signing a new contract....

He'll actually have to do his job and employ people to fill those other gaps... i wonder if this is part of the reason they are so reluctant beyond the financial reasons to get rid of Wenger, they don't actually have a clue who does what it the normal running of a football club

And there lyeth the truth...
Now ask yourself what did Wenger do to keep himself in a job for all this years post Highbury???

I also think that we will miss out, but I do think that when there are press clippings (again within hours of each other) which stick up for Wengers decision point to one thing fellas....
If there's any truth in this, it definitely looks like Sanchez is on his way out. Wenger would prefer to discard a proven winner in order to keep the Zen-like harmony in his dressing room of pampered babies.
Arsene: "Fuck me Bouldy, this is a massive must-win for us today, so using all my experience from 1000 games, I'm going to drop Alexis".
Bouldy: "Boss, that is fucking inspired, you are a tactical genius, Boss, Boss.....?"
Arsene: "Bouldy?"
Bouldy: "Boss, Boss, let's leave Mesut out as well!"
Arsene: "Bouldy, that is a brilliant suggestion, I'm going to leave that waste of space out as well. Bouldy....?."
Bouldy: "Boss?"
Arsene: "That Spanish fellow we signed, think he calls himself Perez, he looks sharp, scores goals, so he's out the team too"
Bouldy:: "Boss, you just can't buy that sort of logic! Boss, Boss......?"
Arsene: "Bouldy?"
Bouldy: "Boss, let's drop Kos, he's crap too!"
Arsene: "Bouldy, don't be a knob!"
Bouldy; "Boss, you f***ing started it you c**t!"
You couldn't make it up could you.......It's like Pink Floyd turning up for a world tour and saying "Right Gilmour, you ain't playing tonight,we'll drag some amateur out of the crowd to play lead guitar", We are so far beyond a fucking joke now,
Wenger is a liar and a fraud. It does make you wonder how many have walked because of his incompetence and lies. Now our best player stands up and probably says it how it is. So he and we pay the price. Whilst the under achievers and kiss arses get to keep their jobs, and get wenkers praise. Makes you want to puke!!

The commentator on BT made the point that our substitutes (Alexis, Walcott and Perez) have scored 40 goals between them this season yet none started.
The way I see it, is Sanchez isnt being petulant or difficult, he is simply demanding other players escalate their effort and performance, which is rocking the boat and intruding on the comfort zones of the drifters in our team. Sure its creating friction, as Sanchez is in effect telling his team mates they are not good enough.
Although what does Wenger do? He sanctions Sanchez by benching him, to iron out Sanchez's efforts to demand more of his team mates. And the worst thing is, Wenger benches Sanchez to put him in his place, but after 45 minutes and 2-0 he throws him on the field, desperate for Sanchez to ignite a comeback. It just shows how feckless Wenger is, that he cant be competitive without a player who is openly berating the players for not being good enough, or working hard enough.
The high demands of Sanchez should be coming from the manager himself. However, its tragic as Wenger is trying to curb Sanchez's emotion and passion. Wenger would prefer Sanchez be more like Feo. Smile, be polite, dont rock the boat, do a Harry Potter cameo and be a good little boy who tows the line.
Roy Keane used to berate United players who didnt put the effort in, slacked off or acted like they couldnt care. And Ferguson was all to happy to let Keane act as an enforcer within the dressing room to keep standards high. Although Wenger, is doing the opposite - Wenger is trying to protect the slackers from Sanchez.
A few week ago, Sanchez threw his fist at Walcott as he didnt press the opposition left back, and it allowed the other team to escape form their own pocket. Sanchez did his job, he closed down the centre half, who passed it to the left back, now Theo should have been on the move to force a rushed clearance which would give us the ball back, but instead Theo just stood still, and the left back was able to play out of the back pocket. Sanchez then threw a fist in Theo's direction - this is the type of behavior from Sanchez what Wenger is taking issue with. However, I think Wenger should be throwing his fist at Theo, not protecting him from criticism for not doing a basic job.
Wenger perhaps feels threatened by Sanchez, as he is trying to manage the team. However, its not overreach by Sanchez, as no one at Arsenal actually manages the team. We have someone who picks the team and coordinates training. But no one other than Sanchez looks to enforce standards, demand high intensity and maximum effort.
Someone has to manage this team, and if Wenger wont, why shouldn't Sanchez step up?
The club have done a PR hatchet job on their best player in order to give their backing to the manager.
It's like the last days in the bunker in Berlin, everyone knows the end is coming, everyone knows it's going to get bloody but every dirty trick that's left on the table is going to get played until we're all put out of our misery.

I said this would happen a few weeks ago on here. Arsenal know CL qualification is looking pretty dodgy next season (I don't think we have any chance of getting it) and that means a minimum £40m loss. Kranky will already have told Wonga (who will be here next season) to recoup the money and Sanchez will be sold regardless, for £60m odd, to make up the shortfall BUT the club will make it seem like Sanchez is the problem so they don't get a big backlash when they sell him. It's a disgrace and I cannot believe 'fans' put up with this shit. What the fuck is the matter with people these days? Almost everyone bends over and takes whatever Farsenal put their way??
One more thing......this utter bollocks in the papers about Arsenal talking to Allegri and having an agreement that he will be Arsenal boss IF Wonga leaves!!!!!!!
So we're supposed to believe that Arsenal have spoken to one of the top managers around and said.....'you can come and manage us if our current specialist in failure decides he doesn't want another few easy years doing fuck all'........if you were Allegri you'd tell them to fuck right off!! You either want me or you don't!! Utter utter bollocks. They'll announce Wonga's new contract before the Bayern game!!
