You haven't missed much, it is absolutely soulless in there nowadays.RobG wrote:xisstential wrote:LaughingGooner wrote:Did the march take place??
I assume it was cancelled as I didn't see anyone protesting.
Why the apathy??
I've said it before AFC fans deserve Arsene Wenger...if he signs that contract I hope the roof falls in on their heads next season.
.
I can remember the spontaneous anger that got Neil the chop back in 83. We used to a fan base that cared. Now, as you say, it's day trippers, tourists and bozos who take selfies with the foot long hot dogs.
It's a zombie fan base with some real believers attached. Passion has been replaced by money. Belief by attendance. Action by apathy. Support by spectating. Commitment by indolence. And the Club by the - current - Manager.
I stopped going seven years ago. And I just don't know when or if. I will ever start going again ? Certainly not whilst Wenger is in situ.

Re: Wenger Out protest - Sunday 7th May
I think the campaign to get him out this season is over really. The fact that just a very small percentage are bothered shows that we are in the minority. It was the same last season so nothing has changed. The majority are happy with what they have got !!!!
I will keep my silver reg but i wont go again until wenger leaves.

If you were involved in football in some way, the FA would call you in to ask you what you mean by that?OneBardGooner wrote:Sure.IW8Goalmachine wrote:Can we get this thread back on track please

The protests are done now, well done to the organisers for keeping it in the public eye but the wins against City (and now United) have pretty much killed it, all you can do now is fund some things that keep it in the press but there's no point organising another march.
You've done your bit to remove him, now it's going to come down to the empty seats in the last two games (with Liverpool and City finishing in the top 4) to convince those above that retaining Wenger is not best for business, the Sunderland game will be half full, Stan is in town apparently so hopefully that will seal it.
Couldn't do the march and that's nothing to do with apathy, I have a 7 year old who wants to eat Pizza before and go into the ground not protest against the manager for a situation he knows nothing about, I've contributed to the fund and left my 3 seats empty in the FE for a few games and the next one coming up, people will do what they can but the marches are sort of associated with the idiots at Arsenal Fan TV (through no fault of your own) so you've done well to do what you've done re support for them, time to take a step back with those IMO, it looks like it's out of your hands now and in the hands of those above.

The ironic thing being none of them turned up. The only "known" people there yesterday was Memz (first march) and KennyKen who has done all of them. Don't think DT even bothers with banners at games now...Gunnersaurus wrote:The protests are done now, well done to the organisers for keeping it in the public eye but the wins against City (and now United) have pretty much killed it, all you can do now is fund some things that keep it in the press but there's no point organising another march.

Re: Wenger Out protest - Sunday 7th May
Probably too scared now after the incident with Robbie at one of the last home games.
Don't be too down about it all, if the club do the right thing (and I think they will as it's a business to them) then none of it would have happened without the attention you've raised from it, just seems like that natural course is now the Sunderland game being empty (and if you look on TX it's looking likely) the formality of finishing outside of the top 4 (Liverpool may balls it up but so will we) and the small matter of beating the best team in England, still can't believe that some are treating getting to the final like it's been won, that could be the final act for him and the final embarrassment.

We said we wouldn't stop & we're going to keep going until the end of the season...the best protests, like the projections, are the one's where you don't have to count on people turning up.Gunnersaurus wrote:Probably too scared now after the incident with Robbie at one of the last home games.

I reckon the open-top bus would have been better saved for last home game of the season. Before a Wembley semi-final where people want to make a day of it with friends and family was never gonna fly in retrospect.
The fact only about half a dozen turned up was still very disappointing though.
Banners in the Emirates is the way to go now. After the game, hold them up and keep them up until stewards or police tell you to leave.

Yea..hindsight is always 20/20 though. The thing is mate, even after we got turned inside out by our most hated rivals (and it could have been 4 or 5) people still couldn't be bothered to turn up on Sunday. As soon as we win everybody starts supporting him again. Drop points on Wednesday or Sunday and we are done. Even now if 'Pool win their last 2 we still cannot catch them...PLUS we would have to win all 4. So we carry on until the end of the season..we said we would and we will.armchair wrote:I reckon the open-top bus would have been better saved for last home game of the season. Incredible that we are thinking 4th place and he's gonna get praised to the rafters. FOURTH!! That is what this man has reduced us to...and people cannot see it. A MASSIVE club like ours and FOURTH place is success!!
Re: Wenger Out protest - Sunday 7th May
I'm not actually overly bothered that a lot of people have given up on the protests. It's just the way it is at the Arsenal.
It would have been great to have numbers behind us but a Wembley semi and now a final to look forward to has put the mockers on us.
Even some of the die-hard WOBs I know who've been involved with showing banners at grounds from season 2011/12 have got fed up.
I have been let down myself so many times over the seasons with people saying they would show up and do banners with me it's unreal and frustrating. Many times I have done it on my own or simply not bothered
The only person I can 100% rely on to be there when he says and to do what is needed is NickF

Respect to Armchair and NickF
I really hope this is the endgame now. TOF's insistence on no DOF could be the thing that finally does for him.
