Modern Football Bol**cks

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

🚨 Al-Hilal's offer in detail:

• €300M fee to PSG
• €700M salary. €13.4M-a-week
• One-year contract
• This will allow him to join Real Madrid for free next summer

Any player going out there in his peak years is basically selling his career down the shitter imo - yes the wages are massive, but the standard of football will not be good, and I dont know if a player can lift himself back up to an elite level having played two or three years in a saudi pub league. Look at the players who cashed in to get big contracts in china and it finished them as top level players

Why would he bother moving to Madrid and taking a huge pay cut.

Football is fucked

Sad news and no age.

Quality footballer and always seemed like a genuinely nice bloke.

Sad day indeed.

R.I.P

I remember the headlines on TV and in the papers "The First £1Million Player"

And now we're seeing headlines of a player (the Ninja Turtle) possibly being sold for £257Million... Fuckin' Nuts is what it is.

My sentiments exactly. Very sad news. He always seemed like a nice guy too. And Jeez, 69 is no age nowadays.

RIP.

RIP to Chris Bart-Williams. Always remember him from the 2 finals against us for Wednesday in 93. 49 is no age!

A sad day for both Forest and Wednesday

Stunned by that news - always liked him as a ball player who kept the game simple, and always felt that he would have been a star in a foreign league where the emphasis was more on technique than the english game was

Met him once not long after the Emirates opened. He was trying to find the media room and asked if I knew where it was! I didn’t have a scooby.
