Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Our protests have made huge publicity, the likes of which haven't been seen at Arsenal ever before.
Given that - there is one huge question that nobody has asked yet :-
WHY HASN'T ALISHER USMANOV SAID ANYTHING IN PUBLIC??

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
He's always strongly backed AW so I think he is probably finding it difficult to come out and criticise him, frustrating because we badly need an allie against Kroenke but I think he normally doesn't say anything during the season anyway, it would certainly be useful if he came out with a statement saying that Wenger needs to step down as it would put more pressure on the board.Jumpers For Goalposts wrote:Our protests have made huge publicity, the likes of which haven't been seen at Arsenal ever before.

untold Arsenal looking to sanitise the language also....i fucking give up....load of wankersRedarmy wrote:Jumpers For Goalposts wrote:Lads - I posted yesterday how dismayed I was by the total apathy of most of our supporters. As my son and I walked to the station after the protest I looked at our "fans" heading to the ground and they could've been going to the theatre, the cinema, out for a meal - anywhere but a big football match.
Arsenal PLC have changed the fan base totally. They decided about 15 years ago that money / profit is more important and this is the end result. Depressing
yes thats the sad truth i am afraid....
positioned next to the Lincoln supporters, and I was rather sorry to hear that it was not as enjoyable an experience as it might have been.
There were two prime things wrong it seemed: the language and the visibility.

I've been saying this ad nauseum. The charlatan, the old boys club we call The Board and wiggy hardly give a fuck about a few noisy peasants marching and singing in the streets. Said charlatan has been and continues to be their cash cow. Why fuck up a good thing? To compound it, the soulless bowl is still sold out every match day.Redarmy wrote:absolutely no doubt he willten20 wrote:AFCAMDEN on twitter saying he has signed the new 2 year contract
the only way he is leaving is when he croaks.....no way he's leaving £9 million a year.....even if he dont know how to spend it
I say again that only mortality can rescue the club from the iron grip of TOF.

Agree with everything but your last sentence blood. The one person that could hold the key is Usmanov.Blood_Gooner wrote:I've been saying this ad nauseum. One sentence from him could tip things our way so it's so frustrating not to know what his next move might be.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It's got nothing to do with the money, he could go to China and earn double that. It's all about the power he has at Arsenal and the hero worship from the board, the idiot fans and the media. He sees himself as one of the worlds best managers, if not the best, striding like a Colossus across the European stage. That's why competitions like the league cup are treated with such contempt, he sees himself way above all that.Blood_Gooner wrote:I've been saying this ad nauseum. There is no club in the world where he will wield the power he does at Arsenal and ANY club with aspirations will demand results....whereas at Arsenal he has set the bar at top 4....and even worse convinced thousands of our idiot supporters and the press that that is a massive achievement. This is ALL about him, the press were actually talking about him turning the season around before he will re sign. Turn it around, how?? Top 4, that's how, that's his benchmark, that is what we must accept, otherwise be seen as ingrates. It's just all so depressing. He won't get away with that at ANY club with aspirations.
You think he doesn't know that???

Agree, they were absolutely brilliant - 1-0 to the ArsenalJumpers For Goalposts wrote:

BUT I think Augie would care to disagree re God like status

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Exactly right, and yes he may have had his hand in the till, but I wasn't even bothered about that at the time. Wenger is even more blatant trousering £8million fo the bare minimum requirement, and making out he is doing us a favour. Makes my blood boil

I had a chat to Jumpers earlier and if that is the case we need to ramp it up right until the end of the season. Change the banners to GET THE HELL OUT & WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN!!... things along those lines...we might have to ditch the NNC if he's already signed one...we cannot go away though..the club needs the negative publicity heaped upon them.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
How is he getting such an easy ride from the media for repeatedly referring to our performance on Tuesday as "brave" and "outstanding"?
It's fucking sick.
We folded like a house of cards (as we have 5 or 6 times a season at least for the last decade pretty much) and conceded FIVE goals at home to follow up FIVE in the first leg. We lost by eight fucking goals in a last 16 tie against a team that are not even the best side in the competition. Wenger reckons we were great and if you listen to him it was basically only the ref that dumped us out.
The likes of Ferguson never have let him get away with this sort of bollocks back in the day (and indeed vice versa) but none of the rival managers are interested in calling him out now because as long as he is here we are completely nullifies as a title threat.
