As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I too find spitting disgusting but what about your fans picking on scarfers, families and children outside the ground?
The incidents are seperate, and doesn't make spitting on people below you any more justified.
When did I say spitting was acceptable??
You didn't.
So why copy my post and make a comment as if I was justifying it?
For clarification; I find anyone no matter what colour shirt they wear picking on/spitting on children and/or women disgusting. What I was trying to point out was 'Ian' should look to his own. I am really sorry that his child had a bad experience at our ground but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones

I sat on a train whilst a scouser was waving his cock at a few old dears on a day out to London asking them if they wantes to make a few quid! Do I sign up to an Everton site to complain about their conduct?
Like I said, no spitting is not right but when you go away with the club that causes shit wherever it goes you have little if any right to complain!
So when someone spits in your kid's face, you'll accept it? Not me mate.

Would you accept some Everton fan attacking your kid or you wife, perhaps even using knives as is well known in the past?
Firstly, I won't apologise on anyone's behalf because any crunt that spits on kids (or anybody for that matter) does not represent me. I will express my deep regret that Ian's poor kid had such a shit experience in OUR GROUND. The wankers that did the spitting should be banned. Fuck them, those days are over, we don't want or need them.
Secondly, as Gus points out, Everton need to look at their own moronic fans too. While I'm not for one second excusing the fuckwits that did the spitting, I'd say it may just be possible that one or more of those spitters might have been taking the (wrong and moronic) opportunity to get a little payback for being assaulted by the infamous Everton moron brigade before the game. Now, I'm not saying that is what happened, but it is certainly a possibility.
Ian, write to the club because what happened was inacceptable and needs to be stamped out, but you might also want to think again about the company you keep on match day, mate, because a hell of alot of your so called "fans" are a fucking disgrace.

Eloquent
Ian mate, sorry you had such a poor experience yesterday. I wasn't stewarding in that section, but I heard there were some issues.
From what you've said, that's a really poor show from the stewards there, they certainly should have attempted to help you folks out.
I can only suggest that you write to the club to inform them of what happened. As well as (hopefully) getting some form of official apology, I would hope that the club would take it up with the supervisors in that section of the ground. That way the stewards there will come under more scrutiny and hopefully do a much better job if that ever happens again.
Once again mate, sorry that some knobs in club level ruined your day
Sorry ds... probably my fault.. I should have been more clear

So my response...

..wasn't a dig at you, or suggesting that you thought spitting was ok, but merely that the incidents outside the ground that you and Gus referred to have - in my opinion - probably nothing to do with the majority of the fans who were spat on, so why bring them up?
They shouldn't be guilty by association, so I thought that mentioning other incidents, was irrelevant to the situation he was talking about.
