Favorite Beer

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I went to Brugge a couple of years ago with my wife we found a bar just by the main square looked like it was exactly the same since the war but inside they served over 100 different types of beers each with its individual glass, there are too many to remember which ones i liked over there. Well recomended if any of you go. I like VB and have found a place in a nearby town that sell the stubbies of it also like Amstel

Anything really! But my usual tipples are Stella, Hog's Back TEA (good local real ale) and Desperados.

Wifebeater, VB, XXXX (being an old Brisbane boy) Smithwicks, Bass, Caffrey's, Tiger. 8)

Not fond of regular Fosters but I have aquired a bit of a taste for the Super Chilled Fosters...

Also, my local used to have a sound barman that got to know the regulars and would always have a chilled glass sitting in the ice for me... Pint of Smithwicks or Bass ale with a dash of red lemonade in a super chilled glass... ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh.... 8)

Schwarzbier translates as "Old Speckled Cock" which is probably the beer that Gus would most like.

good to see you are not all lager louts

MARTIN HAYES - i used to go to marquess for best part of twenty years but we abandoned it even though beer remained ok cos no longer a proper pub and it became plain and obvious they were more interested in yuppy types than football fans

i loathe the place but easily the best place for real ale on match days is the coronet. normally about choice of 10, always changing, kept in good shape- pity about plastic glasses - and bloody cheap.

north nineteen aint bad but smaller choice.

I work in a Real Ale pub on Saturday afternoons (football permiting). We have six ales on at any time, four of these change on a daily basis two are permanent. We have two proper lagers, Kaltenberg Hell from Bavaria and Budweiser Budvar from the Czech Republic (the proper one not the yank shit). We also have four ciders and a perry along with loads of Belgian beers all with their own glasses.

Some of the best sellers are Dark Star Hophead, Downton Quadhop, Red Squirrel Springfield IPA, Oscar Wilde Mild, York Guzzler, Brewster's Decadence. We have our own ale brewed for us by tring Brewery called Liberty Ale and we grew our own hops for the Red Squirrel Brewery in Hertford to brew Heronsgate Hop Blonde. Our pub being the only place in the country to sell it. Only six casks were made.
