Would You Want Owen?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No I would not want Owen. Injury prone and old. And we arent really short on class strikers with Ed coming back. So unless we're getting David Villa then dont spend on strikers.

If he could stay fit for more than 5 games then yes but we have too many injury prone players at the club without adding more

Ain't that the truth

Great little player, but Owen has NEVER managed 20 league goals in a Premier League season... that's not good! :?

Far too injury prone, and I'm SICK TO DEATH of seeing (or should I say, NOT seeing) so many talented Arsenal players in the treatment room on a regular basis.

We moan about players like Eboue, Diaby, bendtner and Song, but if it wasn't for injury prone players like Nasri, Rosicky, Theo, RvP, etc. we wouldn't have these players forced upon us!

No to Owen we should have got Eto"o the best striker in europe at the moment who Bacelona wanted to offload in the summer and we could have given them Greedy in return

Aint that the truth. And to think that some misguided clowns on here said at the time that eto was as good as finished and his best days were behind him  Just goes to show how insular football fans from this side of the world are - if you aint playing in our league then you must be shit

Aint that so true augie, made me laugh people talking about Eto'o. And the insularity of football fans can be seen in the description of Clichy as one of the best left backs in the world. :banghead: :banghead:

Hey hey galasso, I am one of clichy's fans so that could be me you are talking about there  Anyway given the lack of outstanding left backs in the world then I still believe that clichy is up there with the best of them. Just thinking to myself that the same people who idsmissed eto in the summer are probably the ones that sing about the "talents" of greedybayor every game at the grove  :banghead: :banghead:

Clichy's got alot to learn in making the right decisions and in defending generally. I am a fan of his but just that I want to look at the bigger picture as well and there are some very good left-backs out there. I guess that most left-backs are expected to be more like wing backs these days with so much emphasis on attacking players.

Do you think we can still bargain with Barca re eto'o and ade??

:-P :-P

Under no circumstances. We have enough 'Perma Crocks' as it is !!! :banghead:

Rosicky, Wallcot, Nasri - that's over £100 K per week sitting on their arses doing nothing. Do we really want to add to that cost ??
