Cartoon shows at Christmas!!!!!
Kids TV was about half an hour in the afternoons. That was it. We were starved of Popeye, Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, whatever.
But at Christmas we could get Walt Disney films (if mum and dad allowed it). Fucking brilliant.

The days when you did'nt get a day off school coz it snowed, we just walked through the stuff, it's fucking snow for fucks sake

Levi Sta Prest tousers, tonic trousers and jackets, getting iron horseshoe thingy's put in the heel of your loafers or brogues and causing as much damage as poss to the back wall of classrooms at school with them

Getting a new pair of steel toe capped dm's and cutting the leather out so you could see the steel

Good tv at xmas, being genuinely excited about what was No 1 in the singles chart, usually Slade or T rex

Aztec bars, being able to buy enough sweets to really spoil your dinner for a shilling (5p)

Peter Marinello on Top of The Pops

Bob Mcnab on On The Buses. Mary Whitehouse getting her knickers in a twist about Chuck Berry's "My Ding A Ling"

The best moment, for me, was when they were discussing Christmas.
The "silly ol' moo" said that little baby Jesus was born in a barn because all the hotels were full.
"Well it was Christmas weren't it? All the 'otels get full up at Christmas"
