My view was, and is, that women are not as good drivers as men.

The thing is, whilst I know you do not agree with that, I do not feel that statement can offend or upset or is out of order, or is sexist.

To me, it is as non-sexist as saying that women are not as fast runners as men.
There are plenty of women who run much faster than many men, and some women who drive better than some men, but in general men drive better and run faster.

but you all know that anti - Jewish/Israel
perhaps one reason why people so dislike PC is because it can often be used as an excuse to stifle free speech.

Hence your conflation of judaism and Israel.

The criticism of a nation's government and the policies it follows suddenly turns to hatred of Jews.

But what has happened on here, and in many other places in British life, has been hatred of Jews.

And I have not accepted the legitimacy of the criticism of the Israeli government.

Exactly my point, I was, and still am offended by something you thought nothing of, something you felt was not sexist. What I am saying is I dont really care what you post, I just think it is a different view to mine. You seem to think that because you dont think something is sexist it isnt. I might have different political views to you with regards to the middle east but I would never post it because I know it would offend you. You took no such care with the women drivers comments but until now I have not caused a scene, and even now this is just a discussion. Post what you want, if it offends me I simply say my piece and thats the end or I stop reading it. I feel you should also be the same.

Your last point, non pc I might add, has made my blood boil but I am not up in arms asking for the removal of your post. Freedom of speech is a great thing, and pc bollocks is supressing it.

I have not set out to make your blood boil, or offend.

I truly am surprised that you are so distraught at my comment.

I honestly cannot see much sexist with what I have said because I have not said men are better than women in all things, but that they are better than women at driving.
One specific action, based on different spatial awareness between the genders.
In my original posts I also pointed out that women are better than men at multi-tasking, again, based on different characteristics between the genders.

But that is, as you say, the good thing about this place, that I am now aware of how it makes you feel.

It does not change my view on how women are as drivers, but what it does do is make me reluctant to talk about it to a woman in future.

Quartz, come on get real, there are 2 sides to every story. we could all find newspaper cuttings that give varying points of view. I am not saying one side is right and one is wrong before you start accusing me of something sinister. It is very sad that in this day and age we cannot all get along with our neighbours.

Which brings me right back to my point, one mans meat is another mans poison. I really dont give a fuck what you think of women drivers it has no bearing on my life, I just ignore the comments. This is what I think some of the posters on here should do on posts which they find offensive and I dont.

You seem to make the assumption that because you find something non offensive so should everybody else. That then is the polar opposite of what you are saying on some of your posts/threads. Because you find something offensive you then expect those of us who dont think that way to bow to your judgement.

What I said was, that I did not think my view on drivers is offensive.

I still do not.

I will not lie to you and say that I have now changed my mind.

But,

Because you find it offensive, I am not going to talk about it any more, as it is offensive to you.

I do apologise for offending you, because I have no agenda to do that.

I understand how you just ignore a comment you do not like, because you are committed to free speech.

But for me, i will argue my point, because when it comes to the Jewish/Israel thing, I believe too many people have incorrect views, views that directly lead to violence against me and other Jews on the streets of London.

So of course I am going to argue my case.

Quartz, the last thing I want from you is an apology. Certainly not asked for and not needed :) . It offended me at the time and then I forgot it because it has no bearing on my life.

I was drawing a comparison not just with your posts but others too. If we lost Wayno from here it would be a very sad occasion and imo if people keep complaining about his posts then it will happen. Maybe I'm wrong, I sincerely hope so.

Unfortunately Jews will always be associated with Israel because it's the only Jewish land in the world - I believe it's referred to by many as "the promised land".

I tend to stay out of political accusations (obviously I know you and most other semites aren't personally responsible for the holocaust in Gaza), but it's called "guilty by association". Muslims have been terrorised since 2001 because of the actions of a few hardline fundamentalists. The Irish (ie, my family) took plenty of abuse because of the IRA bombings in the 70s-90s. Fucks sake, even at England Germany matches, you get a bunch of chavs, all born after 1945 with their arms spread singing the Dambusters tune.
