As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We need a new manager with new players and new ideas. And we need a new board
Agreed - were we really so desperate for cash that we needed to let Gilberto, Flamini and Diarra go. Yes, 3 players who all perfected the CDM role and not one hint of a replacement. Wenger chose to spend his January cash on an attacking midfielder, so soon we will have Nasri, Fabregas, Rosicky, Arshavin, Diaby, Walcott and Denilson all available. Spot a CDM amongst that bunch Wenger
I am in agreement with everything thats been said against this board but in fairness they commissioned a transfer fee of c. 15m during the worst recession in our history. It was Wenger who chose to spend it on a player in a position where we will have the choice of 6-7 players.
would love it if aw could come on this forum and see what the fans actually think of his team and the way there are playing.he should face up to reality and in the summer completely revamp the squad because you can be damn sure cesc wont be hanging around ,who could blame him this is the worse arsenal team in years.major changes are needed.and if he continues to spout the shit about him believing in this team and i hate to say it it might be time for him to move on.
there is no point in these get out arsene wenger threads, Lets face it unless there is a complete collapse then the board will continue to let arsene carry on with his little pet project. The only way that arsene will come under any pressure is if the club comes under foreign ownership and you have to ask yourself which one do you want

Err....foreign ownership thanks. It really seems to have hindered the Mancs since it happened to them doesn't it

I can't believe this discussion still rages on; I've been calling for Wenger's head for what seems like my entire lifetime, and I cannot believe he's still there. The club - and the team - is going nowhere whilst he's in charge, as has been evidenced in the past several months.
Back in 2004/05, I was told - by both AW and fans alike - that it was a transition season. I didn't accept it then, and I certainly don't accept it now that we're into our fifth such season. In that time, the squad has become inferior each and every season.
We're simply not making any progress with Wenger. I've no idea who to replace him with; but at this point in time, I think it's worth rolling the dice to see what comes up. The entire organisation needs a complete shake-up.

So who would you want to take us over ?
Usmanov, because he will put a visionary like Dein in charge of our commercial affairs instead of a bunch of 'dark age' loons
Sacking Wenger won't work. Just put more pressure on him for the next season and ask him what his targets are for the season. Wenger is one of the main men in Arsenal, on and off the "pitch"; so sacking him can prove to be an impossible task.

I find it interesting though as to why in such a current climate that usmanov would be looking to buy arsenal. Lets call it 15 percent that he bought off dein, at a cost of 75 million, aquiring 30 percent is/will cost him the same amount. 150 million for each additional 30 percent there after.
Is he then going to come in after that and clear the club of its debt...

Khalid
Do me a favour.Wenger listens to no one.He lives in Wengerworld when everything he does is right. He is never going to change his stubborn ways.Sell Diarra,Gilberto and Flamini and replace them with Denilson,Song and Diaby. He has lost the fucking plot

His contract runs for two more seasons, and he will see that contract out.
Wenger still has my backing as manager, and I certainly would give him next season to sort this team out and show that he still has the ability to get them back on track!
However, any talk of a contract EXTENSION should be well and truely shelved for the time being!
(although, Wenger might be planning to leave at the end of his contract, anyway)

I think that is what will happen, two more seasons then he will go to France, probably to manage PSG.

And we will be in the same position as we are now.No manager should be safe in his job.Football is a results industry.4th place was the least of our objectives this season if we dont finish 4th then Wenger should fall on his sword
