Although he is a good player he still lacks enough goals from midfield considering his role. Cesc brings so much more than just goals & the ability to go past players. He dictates the game in a way Diaby could never even dream of doing! The only strings I'd be confident of Diaby pulling would be his hamstrings!

Not to mention when Cesc had the right midfield partner last season (Flamini) he was staring to add goals to his game!

If he IS that good why doesn't he start for spain? I never said he wasn't good cos obviously he is a good player but we have managed without him so far and Diaby is getting better and better. Cesc did score some good goals last season but so did adybarndoor.

We hit a purple patch last season and seemed to score for fun but teams have changed the way they play against us and have basically sussed cesc out imo, let him go.

You cite his inability to get into spain's starting 11 as a reason to knock him but dont factor the reasons into play at all - aragones (racist dick) has 2 attacking positions to fill and opts for the 2 barca players who play alongside each other week after week so does that make any sense to you ? The same manager appears to have had a preference for the players that played their league football in spain or would you disagree with that ? Finally am I correct in saying that cesc got voted into the uefa team/squad of the tournament ? FFS we have enough shit players in the club at the mo without turning on the few quality players we have

I thought he was pretty ordinary this season, in fact i think arshavin, eddie aside the whole team is pretty ordinary.

I'm kinda in the middle on Cesc leaving tbh. Obviously I'd rather he stay and we build a quality team around him. But it wouldn't be the end of the world for me if (when) he leaves either. He is not the greatest player we've ever had or even the best player in the PL. Don't get me wrong, Cesc is quality and can only get better with good coaching and maturity but no one player can be allowed to become bigger than the club. Now, I'm not saying that is the case as you cannot believe a word in the media.

There was a time I couldn't picture Arsenal without Liam Brady.

Then without Wrighty.

Then without DB10 or Henry or Freddie and Bobby.

Shit happens, we move on.

Hope he stays though...

Cesc is a special player, he has the ability to orchestrate a game, big games, unmatched by few other midfielders in the world game and AW has and wants to build a team around him!

Ronaldo for instance will undoubtedly get you goals but when have you ever seen him pull the strings like Fab did in Milan totally destroying them in the process, and as has already been pointed out when we were on form and had balance he was nearly into double figures before the halfway point!

You are digging yourself into a hole, by posting absolute bullshit about our best player and a player regarded by many as the finest in his position in the world. So are you saying we might have won something with Diaby in central midfield?
