Arsenal in CL Final....?
I think that we're at our best when we ignore the opposition and play to our own strengths. Against Chelsea we thought far too much about negating them that we forgot to play ourselves.
Our best performance this season was home to.....Man Utd! And we should have closed that game out at 2-0.....which is precisely the result we need on Tuesday!

Dunno about that Donaldo, think there needs to be a balance.
If they play Berbatov (like I expect) then their game won't be as high impact.
1 nil in 90 mins is good enough, that's not out of reach, we need to dictate the pace though.
After 90 mins it's game on, there's no need to go hell for leather to try and score 3 in 20 mins as that will leave the defence open to counter attacks.

Why do you say that? As far as I know the away goals rule still applies at the end of extra time. Wasn't it the League Cup where the away goals rule only counted in 90 mins?Gunnersaurus wrote:Dunno about that Donaldo, think there needs to be a balance.

Wenger has lost the plot.
Bendtner for Walcott said it all.
Unless we start with RVP and Eddie (if available) and really go for it from the start I see no hope. If we are negative they will score at least once (said the same before the away game).
If it was a premier league game and you said we'll give you a goal start and any you score on the day will count for 2 you would be deemed insane for thinking you had any chance.
Mark my words we will start cautious sneak 1 after halftime and then try to defend. It will back fire big time.

A lot of posters on this thread have summed up the many feelings I have on this game.
I'm ignoring my head on this so my gut feeling is that we will win 1-0 after 120 minutes, going through on penalties with Berbatoss missing the decisive one.
But this will only happen;
if Wenger stops fucking worrying about what the opposition is going to do and just goes for it; 4-4-2 with players in their right positions going at a high tempo having given them a rocket up their ass. Let's impose OUR will on the game. If we do all that and still go out, then at least we can say we've fucking had a go. None of this 4-5-1, cautious, trying to second-guess yourself shite;
if EVERY Arsenal player is prepared to work his bollocks off all game, if they are prepared to fight for each other, help each other and not go looking to blame teammates for mistakes, go missing or just generally give an air of "I can't be arsed";
if ALL Arsenal fans are actually bothered to make as much noise in support of our lads and as much venom toward the Manc scum as possible, for 90 minutes, for 120 minutes, throughout penalties WHATEVER happens. Even if they score we should just carry on regardless than fall into a depression. The Chelsea game in the first season at The Grove and the second half of the Liverpool game this season are the standard.
As daunting as the game looks following Wednesday night we (the fans, the players and the management) all have a real chance to create the first truly great moment at The Grove. What do we have at the moment; Henry in the last minute against them, Chelsea losing the title there. Not much else. Now we could create something to talk about for ages to come. To go up there with Anfield 89, Old Trafford 02, Shite Hart Lane 71 & 2004, the Fairs Cup 70. We all have a chance to tell our kids, grandkids, fuck it anybody who'll listen that we were there the night we came from behind to beat the reigning European champions to reach the European Cup final.
COME ON THE ARSENAL!!!
