We are the club who are defending the financial moral ground in this era of ridiculous wages and transfers.

Having said that, we charge the most for ST and a hotdog. Oooh, and we have no aversion to seeing shares rise from £8.5k to £10.5k in 12 months.

AW isn't the problem, look what he did for us when he first came, we had good players and he used them well to win us titles. the problem is those idiots on the board who are restricting his buying power and the ridiculous wages being offered in an attempt to attract quality players. Yes we are a young side but unfortunately young players are attracted to better offers so naturally they are going to go off.
If you want to blame anyone, start at the top; if they give AW the proper financial support and then he cocks it all up then yes lets have his blood. But it will annoy me if at the start of the next season AW comes out with another load of BS about our young side and how we are going to get titles then my blood will boil as yet again it would be raising our hopes and we find ourselves at this same position, wanting blood and no silverware (except what the ladies team win of course!!!)

Quite...

There was a great quote in the paper last week about how well the club is run. I can also recall talking to a Newcastle fan two years back, who was envious about how The Arsenal are run on a wholly professional level, whereas Newcastle are entirely "Mickey Mouse", a statement being borne out as we speak.

It IS frustrating that we haven't won a trophy since 2005, but it is not as if we haven't competed, which is more tha you can say for the period between 1980 - 1987.

Additionally, didn't we have a similar spell between 1998 - 2002? Had Wenger been dismissed then...no invincibles.

I am pro Wenger, but not blind to his faults. The decision not to play Arshavin at Wembley still baffles. However, I cannot think of anyone better to run the club, to attract young talent, AND, probably most importantly, to ensure that Arsenal never become Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Norwich City or any of the other teams who have been poorly run and suffered as a result.

I'll say what Tommy Rae said over here on the U.S. broadcast "Arsenal were too worried about building a bigger stadium and forgotto replace the players that had left." :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sums it up pretty well I think :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

You cant tell me that because Gibbs slipped, and Almunia let that ball go past him that Wenger should go.

I agree that the problem is that we dont have the finanial backing.

But here's the dilema, if we sell to the yank then I'll feel that the clubs a sellout, no better than Man u.

But with no financial backing we have to wait for some of our younger players to come good, thats what AW has been trying to say with all his ''bullshit'' I feel that he doesnt want the club to loose all its class by selling to the american advertising lawsuit lovers.

And I agree. But maybe the Irish gooners on here dont see it the same way, and has created a bandwagon for the unopiniated to jump on. I certainly down here all this anti wenger chatter on a match day at the grove.

Hmmm, you kind of missed my point MH.

By shortchanging the club to boost their own portfolio, the custodians will be morally bankrupt as they cash their Kroenke cheques.

Am I reading your post incorrectly or are you saying that it is the Irish fans and uneducated fools that believe that wenger should go ?

No augie, Im suggesting that the Irish fans wouldnt see an American owning Arsenal in the same way that an English fan would, as the Irish are supporting an Overseas club as it is.

Can I ask those that are defending wenger to do so on some other basis than that of almunia's roll in their 2nd goal ? Havent many of us argued on here all season that almunia is not top quality ? Didnt we say on here as recently as two days ago that almunia has improved and is stead but will never be good enough for a team aspiring to win trophies ? Wenger decided to install a keeper who wasnt classed as good enough to be 1st choice keeper at any of spain's top division clubs at any time in his career as lour number 1 ? He had chances to bring in a proven top quality keeper and given was reasonably priced as well but wenger stuck with a keeper that is contry miles away from even getting into spains international squad. That is part of wenger's role in a downturn of quality in our team

Thatgooner you're threading on a fine line. Mocking the Irish on here when only 2 of us posted in this thread before your post ,one from northern ireland, is bullshit.

Why single us out? Heard of Liam Brady have you?
