G88ner, Irish's post is refering to Denilson not Cesc.
Don't think so.
Irish said - "Slow, weak ,does not win any tackles. Sounds like the bloke playing beside him all year Denilson. That partnership was never going to work."
He means Cesc, doesn't he?
Ah.. fuck it, I don't know what he means anymore!!!

Two reason's for that - He's not had a pre-season and rest from the Euro's and broke down injured. Since coming back still not the same.
Also you can only be as good as the shit around you.
I actually believe (I'll say it again) the fualt lies with playing both Ade and RVP. both players drop deep at times and there for no-one for Cesc to play a Killer pass too.
we have been missing the real cesc since the start of 2008,he was badly out of form for the second half of last season but pulled through simply because of how well he and flamini worked together
now we are left with medicore players next to him or wenger putting him up fucking front

Which would make it even more difficult to attract top-quality players to come to us.
You cannot underestimate what a huge factor that is or should be in any decision on this matter. I have said all season that cesc will be gone in the summer anyway but if, and that is a big if, he decides to stick around then we should show him the loyalty he has shown us cos imo he is a quality player and has earned that loyalty.
However I have to say that lately he is playing like a man who has his heart already gone elsewhere If that is down to a longing to return home to spain or born out of frustration at the team being built around him I dont know but if he is to depart, and considering what greedybollox was worth last summer, then £30m wouldnt do it for me. I agree 100% that he has slowed down our attacks big time since he came into the team simply cos he aint got the pace but personally I would only sell him this summer if he wants to go
I’m not even sure Cesc is the one slowing down our play as such. His lack of pace surely isn’t a factor in that regard cos his game isn’t based on running with the ball, it’s based on his ability to pull the strings of those around him with his passing ability. Which requires speed-of-thought more than physical pace, and he has that in abundance.
At times last season we played uptempo, fluid football albeit without the frightening pace we had in the final third when Henry was here & at his peak. The main problem now re: the speed of our game as I see it is the total lack of movement. Too many times whoever’s on the ball has little or no options ahead of him. RVP does sometimes drop too deep (he certainly did last night), Adebayor doesn’t move at all, too often Theo hides on the wing not showing for the ball & since City away our FB’s have been told not to overlap as much. So when Cesc gets on the ball he’s often unable to play the quick-tempo pass & move game he did last season when Rosicky was fit, Hleb was here & Adebayor could be arsed to break sweat.

Agreed, and what I said earlier Cesc problem is what's infront of him. RVP and Ade cannot play together.
If, like TH14, Ade goes out wide on a counter there's no-one to play too. RVP plays too deep.
If Eddie was playing he'd be in the box!
RVP need players like Vela, AA23 or Eddie to make runs (also creates space for him) to make a killer pass.
RVP's waiting for a pass deep and Ade's waiting (deep) to flick on the ball or a ball over the top. This doesn't help Cesc.
It's the same with RVP and Bentdner. Bentdner and Ade are the same styles player. another two who can't play.
You can only have one of NB26, EA25 or RVP playing at once. Others can fit around them.
The team should be built around the attacking trio of Arshavin, Nasri and Fabregas. 3 intelligent and technically adept players.
RVP and Adebayor can both go, one because he can't fit into a team with the other three who are all better than him and the latter because he's forgotten that hard work is what got him where he is. £25 million raised at a stroke for a centre forward intelligent enough to bang in the chances the above three create and a defensive midfielder to allow them to go forward with greater freedom. Use some spare money (and some made from selling Diaby and Denilson - that should be around £10 million, amazingly) to sort out the centre of defence.

We could have targetted Barry, as I think he will definitely leave Villa this summer....FFS, sell Diaby and Denilson for whatever $ you can get out of them, but doubt AW will do so
We need Cese his got a brain on him we jus need the players around him to be able read his passing not not be off side or stand there and watch the balls fly past!!
its easy after a defeat to look at our best player and captain, and criticise him and rightly so after the performances in both legs. but using one of wengers favourite lines "if you put a good student in a bad class, his level will drop" he cant do it on his own at 21, look at last year our midfield was creative and with flamini battling and hard working. With fabregas playing with nasri, (1st year in the prem), song and walcott (breakthrough year where they are becoming regular starters). cesc has not been helped!
Cesc hasnt had his best season, the injury did him no favours at all, seemed a bit of the pace since his return, and his usual accurate passing has deserted him over the last few months sure, but with no major tournament this summer for him to be injured in playing for Spain,i can see him coming back strong for the start of next season, imperative we keep him,as he is the only lure for getting better players to the club, besides, wouldnt be any point selling him,we would not see the money spent on improving the squad anyway, maybe 1 player for say, 8-10mil,the rest on the stadium so it would be counter productive.
