Another Bendtner thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

There's a point to which your all missing. Ade and Bendtner are both 'towering' strikers or target man.

I like Nik but sadly he cannot play, like Ade, in tandom with RVP.

RVP is a bergkamp style player a needs the ball to feet and can create that space but needs a player to make a run. AA23, Vela or Eddie.

Likewise, Bendtner can flick the ball on and equally needs a quick player to head on too. Also can hold the ball up on feed in a quick player. RVP is not a player that helps him.
Look how well Nik did well with Vela in the Carling cup (Burnley aside) and with AA23 against West Brom.

Also like how well RVP does with Eddie

RVP with one of Nik/Ade is like putting Bergkamp along side Alan Smith or John Hartson!

Both are good an have there postives but together would cancel each other out. See the current Ade/RVP combo!
Also Ade did well last year becuase this down to RVP's injuries.

There's a knock effect that in that Cesc has no-one to properly feed to.

Ade has to go but equally Nik cannot partner RVP and should be used as subs or in rotation. With either Eddie or Walcott up front.

Bendtner is a trier, I'll give you that - but not much more. He has a terrible first touch and his finishing is awful. He misses too many chances. A striker might only get 2 or 3 chances a game. I've seen NB get 4 or 5 and miss them all. A top striker will put one of those chances away on a regular basis.

He is a good "impact" sub in that he will run at defenders with tired legs and is not afraid to put his head to the ball. He is youngish and may develop to a higher level, but there is no guarantee of that. He is a long long way from being a first choice striker, if ever...

Even though I absolutely don't rate him as a striker I commend him on his effort, particularly against the manure filth and the chavs, when so many of his team mates decided to do fuck all for their £80K a week. :banghead:
Don't kid yourself, there is nothing at all between them.

Both have poor first touches, both miss a hatfull of chances.

One runs around and breaks into a sweat, the other stands there getting off side while putting in no effort while picking up 80K a week.

Bendtner shouldn't be made first choice ahead of Ade for no other reason then of being more valuable to the team.

Adebayor brings absolutely nothing, living in the past about how he scored 30 goals last year is all well and good but what's he done in the last 12 months?

Edit: I'm not calling for Bendtner to be made choice but am making the point that he should be above that useless twat.

I think you might be misreading my post there a little... My opinion of greedywhore is that he is totally useless and lazy into the bargain.

My point was that we need A. N. Other as first choice striker and I was rebutting the suggestion that NB would qualify in that role just because he tries harder than Greedywhore; my 4 year old son would try harder than The Tongo Drongo ((c) = me).

Not just a *word censored* on the pitch, got a text from my girlfriend at 3 in the morning saying some bloke kept trying to chat her up in a shop. Then after leaving the shop was told it was none other than Bendtner by her gooner mate. Though i don't know how reliable her friend is at identifying Arsenal players.

Should be at home learning to be able to play football

Ah right, yeah I agree with you then.

Wenger needs to get away from needing a big centre forward, the team don't play that way so don't understand the insistance to have a 6 ft 4 lump playing in every game when he is not bombarded with ariel balls and when it does go to him on the ground he can't control it.
