New name..... I LOVE HLEB???????

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well .you can't come out with a statement regarding Rosciky when he hasn't played for us in the position you describe - I think that is taking it a little too far. I was asking for your evidence and you produced some..but...

As for assists - I am drunk but I do remember him setting up Rosicky with a lovely pass for his opening goal at Anfield in the cup... i don't have any othet stats to hand but I am sure there were others as well as this one so I can't take your facts seriously... or maybe I just remember the countless chances he lays on a plate for others in BIG games (Fabregas v PSV and Henry v Barcelona) that they don't take.

You see, we all see what we want to see

And mentioning him in the same breath as McGoldrick is an insult. Hleb is, and has been a fine player for Arsenal during his time with us, and given the right mix of players around him and him playing in his prefered postion, things will only get better.

Galasso,

Sorry mate, drunk you may be but the truth is I made a mistake initally on Hleb's Assists record, which I have now subsequently amended. Sorry!!

ECD

I can't normally remember what happened the previous day (which now means that I only remember the last couple of hours!)..I think I was replying to two posts at once.

Anyway, my general gist is that Hleb's contribution goes beyond what is recordable. Rosciky was only in reply to an earlier post stating that Rosciky would do a better job than Hleb. I happen to think the Rosicky would do a good job in that postion but why do we have to denegrate Hleb at the same time.

My example would be away to Bolton - his link up with Denilson was equisite which indirectly led to the opening goal (or was it a great chance!!). Anyway, it is this, rather than the get to the bye line and put aimless cross in that I appreciate. Hence, Hleb's clever pull-back for winning chance against PSV

And, as I re-iterate, his faults (I see them) are only mirrored by the whole team and the Manager.

P.S for the fans - This shouting SHOOT is really beginning to piss me off.

I wonder if the names on here are swaying the club any?

First Eboue stops defending, and now Hleb is trying to make himself loved.

Yeah, I second that .. together with myself, we were the only ones to stand up for Hleb and say he was a good player, who might have been intimidated by TH14 and suffered loss of confidence ...

I also spoke out in defence of Senderos (well, qualified) .. its a confidence thing, if he gets his act together, he can be one hell of a defender ...

Finally, unlike the doubters would have you believe, Eboue was pretty effective in midfield (even though his touch is not the greatest in the world) .. sounds like what you need against teams that pack their buses in front of goal .. a midfielder that tries for fast and direct penetration .. just worry that he may get injured ...

So, yeah, IHH and ECD lets have the names changed ... no ?

Yes, you and me g-n-s.

I'm not going to go on the record for anything about Senderos and Eboue though.

Gunners rich in iron alloys with a carbon content between 0.2% and 1.7%, has a certain ring to it, don't you think?

You guys want ECD and IHH change names because they are da best, maybe IHH must change his name if Hleb stops dribling like hi is drunk, as for ECD i dont beleive he will ever change his name, only if we buy another Ebue that can really defend.

And why ECD and IHH are the best read their coments in this article and u find out why i forgot to put u in the list GUS. 8)

Thankyou very much Kaqak. I am truely flattered (I haven't put him up to this guys - honestly!!!)

However, I don't consider myself the best - far from it (DB10Gooner is the real Guv'nor!). I'm just a massive Arsenal fan - one of many on this forum that tries to make a contribution that I hope people will find at various times to be factual; informative; thought-provoking and (hopefully) funny. :)

Like a lot of Arsenal fans, this forum has been my saviour throughout the long post-season and I have had a blast over the past 3 months inter-acting on here with my fellow gooners - and the occassional Manc! .

Thanks guys - it's been a pleasure working with me ..er...I mean you!!
