Youth Cup Final

Excellent result should have been 5-1 too. Steve Bould as replacement for Wenger?

murphy was like 2 yards onside and he was given offside, nice finish though, should have been 5-1

4-1 great result and the future is looking very bright :barscarf: :barscarf:

Stevie Bould and you young Gunners made me a very happy and proud man tonight

I don't want to get too carried away because the drop out rate from youth football to Premiership is huge BUT.......

at times it was like watching a mini version of one of Arsene's first great sides - the 1998 side

Centre halves who commanded the back line, two midfield enforcers who stood up to everything, endless craft from Emmanuel Thomas and Wilshere (in the Bergkamp and Overmars mould), and forwards with pace to burn. It was fucking great watching physically strong midfielders but with all the touch and finesse, and Bartley like a young TA6.

Come on you Young Gooners - the faith is returning. Stevie Bould - legend, and thanks for a great night's entertainment

One typically cynical quip to end with...is it just me or do all refs love Liverpool even at Youth level ? 2 blatant sending offs for the centre half and keeper, a disallowed goal when 1 yard onside and the defender nearly catching the ball when Murphy's header was sailing in. I suppose some things never change !

Great performance from the lads tonight, Murphy's goal was clearly onside, should have been 5-1.

Amazing performance. A few of these boys could be promoted to the first team in the summer.

Twenty years we are still breaking Liverpool hearts.
If it's not knocking them out of the title race , it's humiliating their youth side in the Youth Cup Final.

Brilliant.

34,000 that was the attendence

And most would have paid at least £5 for a ticket. Even if admission was free, that would have been impressive. But paying up - that meant the Club would almost certainly have grossed upwards of £250,000 for a Youth Cup game -

Do you think Arsenal notice this ??????

Do they appreicate it ??????????

Or do they bitch and moan at the support and ask/demand 'respect' without having any concept of the context in which that can and should be afforded ?

I am just waiting for the first poster on here to give it the - "Oh we just don't deserve to support this team.............Ooooooo..........Errrrrr.........." as in Charles Hawtrey meets Frankie Howerd mode - :? :? :?

That was a very high quality performance by the lads tonight. There are a few in that side that look to be quality players. Lets not get carried away though. Whilst Jack is almost certain to make it through I think we'll be lucky to see more than one or maybe two others at the most. I would guess that the vast majority of that team will end up plying their trade at Fulham, Birmingham City and West Ham. still, lets enjoy them while we have them. Can't wait till tuesday. There's something special about the 26th May at Anfield 8) 8)

  He's definitely top drawer and i can't see any way he's not going to be a regular in the first team within a couple of years, but i don't think he's quite on the same level as Messi, but then who is.
Terrific team performance tonight, 4-1 should be more than enough to to win it, in fact looking at how much more quality we had i wouldn't be surprised if we beat them up there as well.
As others have said it would be nice if a few more than usual progress enough to become regulars in the first team and change the image of us having a successful youth policy into a reality, sadly if history is anything to go by as Spuddy has said all but one or two will end up playing in the championship.
