What is the deal with this gig? Are you paid a wage? Or do you subsidise it with a 9 to 5? Or is it just a labour of love at your own expense? And if so, just how wealthy are you???!!![]()
Obviously you don't have to answer any of the above, I'm just being a nosey crunt...
db10 - i am self-employed and juggle things around as much as i can to fit in the website stuff, for which the owner of the gooner pays me a token amount. but let's put it this way - file under labour of love - which is why sometimes i don't have time to do more than i currently manage as i cannot justify the little time i do spend on this site. i really should give it up completely and knuckle down to some real work, but i know i would miss it. so in answer to your question about how rich i am. well, let's put it this way - i have developed a 'money doesn't make you happy' philosophy as it's highly convenient to have such an attitude given my currrent financial status

in all seriousness. the gooner is an open church and we welcome humorous stuff, so if you want to do something in a format we can use in the printed issue, send it over.
next issue going to press on the 3rd weekend in august.

Mr Cannon or may I call you Mickey?
Whose palm do I have to grease to get myself a slot in The Gooner?
Ive tried Tony Saunders in here but he doesn't seem to hold the kind of sway I require!
A single page feature would be fine for now moving to a double then centre spread slot as the season goes on.
I have my own typewriter and bottle of Tippex so there will be no extra outlay for equipment!
Im not adverse to passing a Pal Lyderson (brown envelope) I just need to know where to pass it!
Cheers!

hoping to get it out with issue 177, so the end of august. however, we'll have to get our panelists a little less rowdy as they were apparently murderous to edit into something which won't get us kicked off iTunes. Main culprit was the highbury spy.
oh well - glad if you like the second one. haven't even had the chance to hear it myself yet!

Also, I don't know about a regular spot on the Gooner, as I'm just a lowly moderator. However, on the couple of occasions that I've had stuff put in to print, just write something you think is decent and send it in. Either that, or get Ed to put you on the mailing list for contributors and he'll let you know if there are any topics that needs someone to write on. For example, in the issue that celebrated Arsene's 10 years in command, I wrote the article about his 10 best games (shameless plug).
So yeah, getting yourself on the mailing list is the way to do it...isn't it, Ed?
