I Hate Hleb wrote:Given Wenger's comments above, it seems as if he expects Ade to leave and has Chamkha as part of his contingency plan. My reading of it is that ideally Wenger doesn't want Ade to go, but because of recent history, is effectively leaving it up to the player whilst at the same time hoping to get a good deal and replacement for the club.

Indeed, that French Football expert Phillipe O'Claire ? (obviously has some Irish in him  ) said on the radio last week that Arsenal would definately be signing Chamkha. Although not massive like Ade, he said the guy was brilliant in the air and that he thought Chamkha would be a big hit here. Let's hope he's right.
If this plays out as is rumoured, then we will probably be signing Chamkha as a replacement. Anyone else know anything about the guy?

He can head the ball
Ah, just because he said Chamkha was good in the air, doesn't necessarily mean he can head the ball!! :? For all we know, he might just be a frequent flyer!!
:coffeespit: Touché!

Why anyone is getting excited about Ade going...cos the replacement will cost half the amount & will have the same old teething problems of settling into our way of playing. If him going means we get a decent midfiield player as well as Chamakh then all well and good. City please take Kolo and Eboue to keep him company.

Yeah and I can just see his celebrations when he outjumps our heading-shy defence to score against us.
Be careful what you wish for guys cos it might just come true. I would prefer he fucked off to the continent.

Not sure this is a good thing. Selling our best striker to rival team is asking for it. And 20m is peanuts in the current market.

And god help us if we end up with Chamakh as his replacement...

I'd prefer he fucked off to beachy head but as long as it is not at Arsenal then i am happy.

Trouble is we can't pick and choose who we sell to.

Most - if not all - accept he and us would be better off apart.

£20 million ain't much in the modern climate but it's as good as it gets.

I'd take it - particularly if it allows us to get the CM in we need as well as another CD.

I sincerely hope that there is no swap with Richards. Having got rid of one akward character we don't want another.

we can choose not to sell.

I don't think we need to sell Adebayor to be able to buy a CM.

Have you seen him play? I dont know anything about him - so cant judge.

We will have Van Persie / Eduardo / Bendtner / Vela plus say Walcott and Arshavin who can play upfront. Its debatable if we need someone to come in, personally id rather we got a more defensive minded player in because going forward we dont have many problems.

Maybe **** is right and Tevez is coming after all

20m plus Richards and De Jong would suit me.

If its just cash then hold on for 32m plus. Lets face it they are loaded.

I dont see how Santa Cruz is worth £18mill and some of you want us to accept only £20mill when you know we cant sign a decent replacement with that shait.

Unless we bring in a decent midfielder on the back of it. Why arent we trying to get one of the Diarra's from Real Madrid. Its so obvious we need someone in there its ffing painful.
