As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Have to agree with those who can see that clearly everything is not as rose as some make out. I have been happy with flamini doing the shielding the back 4 roll (a la gilberto) but honestly he will only ever be a stop gap and I say that with the greatest respect for a player that has always given his all for us. The back four looked good most of the time last night, against only 1 striker it should be said, but again we looked nervy on crosses into our box. I thought hleb, eboue & surprisingly rosicky were quiet last night as well, at least by their standards, and again I have to say that I do not like playing only 1 up front.
Over the last few days I have gone from nervousness to confidence and back to nervousness again. The performance against Lazio was poor to be honest and while it may have been only our 2nd team it shows again the lack of strength in depth. We need a couple of quality signings fast and even at that I am slightly unhappy that any player coming in now will have no chance to adapt to his new team-mates in a less competitive game. I am sure that I am not alone in saying that when van Persie was stretchered off last night I was afraid, very afraid, and that has finally convinced me that we need a top top striker because the back up options will not score us enough goals to win us silverware at this stage.
Yet again I feel that it should be said that any fan who posts on this forum but cannot accept any negatives from other fans should p*ss off to the official Arsenal website where everything is all sweetness and light. A forum is somewhere that fans can go and express their honest opinions and although we may not always agree with each other(in fact sometimes it can get very heated) but we always respect the principle of peoples right to their opinions. I can always accept fans telling me I am talking crap but do not ever question my loyalty to the cause because of it

augie gets upset easy belfast boy,, agree wit his points thou,, esp bout playin 1 up front.. doesnt suit us,, we should play 2 our strenghs and let the opp worry bout us,, also agree wit hleb eboue and rosicky been bad last nite but at least eddie de silva had a bit of fight bout him when he came on and the back 4 looked more solid esp wit sagna. gael had a great game,,
Augie is one of the better posters on this forum. While his posts may seem like doom mongering, I have a lot of time for someone who can take a step back and see things for how they really are. Everyone seems to more or less agree with each other on here most of the time, so it's refreshing to hear someone with a different point of view, even if it is sometimes negative.
We all love Arsenal that I would say is undoubted!
The problem is when people allow raw passion to cloud over fact and common sense!
This is the most frustrating place ever for blind optimism!
Just because some of us prefer to say it how it is and not through Arsene tinted glasses it does not mean we do not love the club and players etc as much as others!
It was no hanging offence to question why McGoldrick got to wear an Arsenal shirt so why should the same not apply to Flamini etc? The bar has been raised in more ways than one!
I've just had a big laugh guys reading the last 7 or 8 posts, starting with Rebel's at the bottom of page 2.
The subject matter at the time was that the forum was good for the fact of having contrasting views and opinions, and that it would be boring if everyone agreed.
This point was then agreed on by everyone who subsequently wrote in!! Intended or not, it came across as fecking irony at it's absolute best!!
Cheers lads, along with Chelsea losing and hearing that Terry and Drogba are injured, it made my day!
