Senderos has signed for Everton

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

seeing as Phil was sitting with our other players I doubt very much he signed anything other than a couple of autographs!
Would be good to see 'Hercules' go though, he has no future at the Arsenal.

Yeah we know.

I don't know, you start an innocent, informative thread about Arsenal and within minutes its become a thread about rimming...

It's Spuddy's fault BT - i only said i'd like to kiss you for making my day by saying Senderos had sign for Everton - he lowed the tone with his vulgar comments
may i join in at the Rim fest? :-P

If Moyes can improve his concentration and his confidence, he is getting a very good centreback. If he does go then our centreback need has increased even further, be a bit sad to see him go but not good enough mentally for a top 4 club

I suppose I am the only one wondering if this deal aint being announced cos of lescott maybe coming the other way :?: I mean it is established that we have a need there, that big phil is going to join them and that wenger wont spend big money so we offer them 14m along with big phil, they get their lescott replacement and we sort out a major need in the process.....sorted 8) Plus it would allow moyes to not have to sell to sparky whose behaviour has pissed everton off big time

I do hope you're right augie but sadly can't believe it. I think our £3.99 plus Senderos offer and £30k per week for Lescott may just be trumped by the Arabs

In all seriousness if there’s one team in the PL where I could see Big Phil having some kind of success it’s Everton. They’re usually very compact & defend as a team so he’s unlikely to be as exposed as he always was for us. And they’re one of those teams that look like they do a lot of work on defending (think Moyes was a CB in his playing days), which is obviously something he’ll never have had with us. I actually think it could be a good move for the guy.
DITTO

This will be the making of him, it wouldn't surprise me if 2-3 years down the line either ourselves or one of the other big clubs comes a calling for him.
Also as has been mentioned it would make a lot of sense if we used Phil as a makeweight in a deal to bring Lescott.

Good luck to ya Phil

For a supposed "done deal" this is taking rather a long time for the ink to dry on the contract - is it not ?

Quite frankly if Wenger is not going to sign a replacement centre half, I'd rather we kept Phil - so if this doesn't happen, I won't be displeased.

Feel a bit sorry for him tbh, he's clearly made a lot of mistakes in games but then who doesn't in that team?

Some get support from the manager, others get made scapegoats, maybe if he was African then he might have been given a second chance.
