The "little club" Charter

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

There are 2 grounds this season - Wolves and Burnley - where the Charter of the Little Club should be posted on every turnstile entrance to the ground. The Charter reads as follows

1. The team should "get in Arsenal's faces" for the first 20 minutes mindlessly chasing shadows, sliding in with raised studs. Who cares - the ref never books you in the first part of the game. Anyway, Alan Shearer says this is the way to beat Arsenal so it must be true......

2. At this point, you the supporter, should scream excitedly at every opportunity. Throws in and corners in particularly should produce orgasmic moments.....

3. Whistle and boo every time Arsenal retain the ball

4. Should one of the attempts to scythe an Arsenal player in half be successful and the physio is employed to deal with a potentially serious injury start singing "Same old Arsenal, always cheating" (in the style of a 6 year old in a playground)

5. Boo that Eduardo at every opportunity. The Sun say he is a cheat and a rotter and we all know that he is the only player that would ever do that sort of thing....

6. When three goals down make sure that you claim some sort of moral victory for singing the loudest. Some particular gems to get you started:

"Ing-er-lund, Ing-er-lund, Ing-er-lund"
"Fuck all, you're gonna win fuck all" (the thicker the regional accent the better for this one...with the emphasis on thick please)
"Your support is fucking shit"
"We support our local team"

7. After getting stuffed out of sight make sure that you claim that only the "top four" get the benefit of the doubt from the refs and that if key incidents had gone your way it would have been a different story

8. Shout "WHO ?" when established Arsenal players get substituted on to the field whilst chuckling with your mates over your cracking sense of humour

9. When eventually relegated pretend that the Championship is a better division because everyone has a chance in the play offs and we get to sing "Ee-ay, ee-ay, ee-ay, ee-ay-o....up the football league we go" everywhere from Plymouth to Scunthorpe

Can anyone think of some additional terms of the Charter ?????
Time for the latest update following yesterday's match.

Hull City - I find you guilty on the points highlighted above. Quite a disappointing effort actually when compared to Wolves who I think ticked every box

So far in the league of the little club it's definitely Wolves leading the way with Stoke second. Villa usually show their true colours though, and no doubt Burnley will come up good at the Emirates later in the season

Was Dr Hull from Kent, Suffolk and occasionally London singing that one? Or was the 60 mile Journey from East Anglia too much hassle for him?

No, he didn't go, due to "a cock-up on City's part"... ..hmm.

Indeed. City took only the minimum allocation of tickets which were subject to a ballot of season ticket holders wishing to attend.

Still, it gave me chance to attend the practice Xmas party and good-humouredly be bated by two (part-time) gooner-types and also be spared National Express East Anglia's inevitable replacement bus service.

Although I watched from the comfort of my sitting room, I didn't ever make it to the armchair. Watching City live on TV is a relatively new experience - until September 2006 we had never won a live match and it is an experience to be endured rather than enjoyed.

Bizarrely, I was not at all disappointed by what I saw - we pretty much nullified you in the first half and could justifiably have gone in all square but for a fairly generous free kick deep into injury time. We should have squared it when Bennet acknowledged his earlier error, but you had rather too much for us when we went 442 to chase the game. There was enough spirit to suggect that we may take something from the top 6 or so - you can hope it might be in the next half dozen games when we have Man U twice, Spurs & Chelsea.

Quite enjoyed the ruck - probably didn't do either team any harm. I understand Gallas stood out but everyone else joined in, so gives out the message to the rest of the PL that you won't be messed with and that despite dilweed commentators like Merson, City are still very much behind Brown Phil.

Barmby is a lucky boy - but as a Hullensian, you have to love that he has played for most PL clubs plus England, but it playing for City that motivated him. Against that Geo had an absolute shocker and his absence was a major factor. I am unsure about Garcia - he looked like he was trying it on to me which is a disappointment. We pride ourselves on being proper men - Fagan got up and laughed at Guthrie when Guthrie broke his leg last season and did the same to Adebayor when he tried to do the same (Adebayor's sole involvement for Citeh was trying to maim McShane & Fagan).

You probably should have had more - Eduardo did a Bergkampesque turn only to miss by the width of the goal (and actually very nearly contrived to miss when did score from 4 yards out) and Walcot went close. But had we scored our (gifted) pen, would you have backed Arsenal to get another?

The atmosphere seemed a little shite - I hear you gave Brownie the bird, but I suspect he can cope with that. Alarming number of empty seats - season ticket holders can't be bothered with Little Hull?

And I am at least third generation Hull City if not fourth - so I support my local team

Enough from me - no complaints, well played - you'll need to be wishing me a Happy Christmas as we have Manchester United on Sunday.

incredibly cold 17.30 kick off near christmas against Hull with the match being shown live on ESPN. I went to this one, mainly because i want to go to as many as possible while at home in London for christmas and also to give tango a roasting. However, i can understand why a lot of people didn't bother.

Bring on villa

Yeah, good analysis Dr Hull. I was at my club footy piss up so only saw first half in the pub (sky+ the football first later on) but until we scored I honestly thought we would draw or lose one nil - it just had that feel to it. So hard luck and obviously good luck against the Manure Filth!! 8)

Fuck off the lot of you - you have obviously been on the Christmas sherry.

reluctantly

OK - , Happy Christmas and a decent but not too happy new year (except for more Tiger induced misery come 13 March as we're gonna need points by then).
