I get around 15 weeks off a year for summer holidays, easter, christmas etc... then add weekends into that, and i get a couple of study days here and there, oh and we usually have a staff development day each term which is a complete doss about...so quite a lot really!

and as far as holidays go, I had a week in lanzarote and a week in Menorca, both in August :barscarf:
Mrs Boomer's a teacher and one drunken night (don't ask why) me and a mate (who was dating a teacher) worked out that you get 93 days holiday a year!!!
That's not including weekends. :banghead:
So that's why the education system continues to produce a load of dunces. The teachers are never in school long enough to actually educate them!!!! :banghead:

I apreciate that as im a cabby my hours and holidays may be somewhat different from a person on paye.
I should have a full 1 week break somewhere relaxing to re-charge my batterys...Preferably next to a pool or on the beach.
Can anyone recommend anywhere with the sun on me back in january?
****, anywhere in the Canaries is nice and warm in January.

Not as cheap as it was, since the Euro got strong. I went in March. It was 50% dearer than last year. :x

You can still get some good deals. I always use a company called On The

Beach. Highly recommend them.[/quot

Will you come with me?
We can go on the pull. :barscarf: :barscarf:

of course i can, gnuey! BRAZIL! 8)

it is cheap for englishmen like yourself (not as much as it used to be, but it still is kinda cheap) and there's as much sun and heat as you could ever want. if you decide to do so, and decide to come to southern brazil, you also have a tour guide at your disposal
and, of course, a pal for sharing a few ales and watching arsenal matches. i can even look for hotels and stuff with good prices around here if ya want. just shout it and i can give you a hand.

what i DO NOT recommend is rio de janeiro and the northern beaches. i know, it's beautiful and famous, but it is too fucking dangerous. specially for guys like you who will have the word tourist written in your forehead!!

other nice alternative is uruguai. people don't talk much about it, but it is even cheaper than brazil and really really really beautiful. great beaches, great weather, nice towns etcetera. however, in uruguai, you won't find as many babes in small bikinis as in brazil 8)

Will those sexy Brazilian girls like some of this?

Oh Boomer you were doing so well right up until the bold part ends.

In my mind it ended like this
Boomer wrote:Mrs Boomer's a teacher and one drunken night (don't ask why) me and a mate (who was dating a teacher) pretended to be naughty boys kept behind in detention. The teachers, with hair in pigtails, bent us over and gently spanked us for being so naughty until we snatched the cane's from them and bent them over the make shift desk in the kitchen and passed our A level's with flying colours.
Well something like that at least.

****, Canaries are GREAT. I usually go four times a year but this year it's been five. One in La Gomera, one in La Palma, one in Lanzarote and two separate trips to Tenerife plus two weeks in California as well. All of this and I never missed a home game because I went when we had a break in league games due to the World Cup qualifiers. I'll stop going to the Canary Islands when they put me in a big wooden box!
