I just hate Wengers bullshit so much.........from the official website...
"In January you need to find a world-class player, who has not played in the Champions League, so we need a very good Christmas.
"To find the players who have not played in the Champions League, who are world-class, who are available... I wish you good luck."
Since when has he ever gone after a world class player? Arshavin possibly? Other than that there's more chance of him doing christmas panto with Mark Hughes. How he's even got the audacity to mention world class when everyone knows he's not even interested.
"I am not a big fan of January, that's why I say I will be on the market but that doesn't mean that I will buy"
That's more like it Arsene, you'll get the fans hopes up but you won't ACTUALLY buy anyone at all

He then goes on to say Dzeko is too expensive
Well when you're looking to spend between zero and 5m, most quality players are too expensive!

Arshavin definitely, one of the stars of the last major international tournament.

Sol Campbell.
Reyes.

Plus a few which didn't really work out... Suker, Wiltord, Kanu

I think wenger should get a striker on loan and put efforts into finding players to buy in the def,def-mid and goalkeeping department. The strikers we(not wenger probably) need won't be available due to C/L,positions in domestic leagues and of course cost.

There are a good few strikers out there that could do us a good turn for 6 mths who shining the bench and if there prove themselves maybe buy them in the summer, just depends. Some mention Huntelaar at AC,who isn't having many games, try him on loan considering he did it in the dutch league(the equivalent of the SPL) but not la liga a better league so we see if he can handle the prem.Same with Toni at Bayern(but not to buy)he's a bit old at 32  (in football term oldgit)but has a good scoring record in the top leagues in Europe and could do a job for us for 6mths?.These are just 2 but there is more out there wenger just have to take a chance.....

The same could be said about a DM but he could concentrate more on the other 3 positions which i think are more urgent to cover. He also have to revert back to 4-4-2 which is more flexible for our style of play and to accommodate new arrivals as there usually playing that in Europe. This will give our ''scouts'' until summer to find required players for said positions..

I can dream i suppose... :banghead:

It aint going to happen of course but can you imagine the mixed feelings fans would have if we signed david villa ?? I mean he is an absolute world class striker but he would be yet another small player in a team of midgets and wouldnt fix the lack of physicality at all :( Would obviously still love if we signed him though 8) :barscarf:

I am mystified by this bewildering and continuing historical revisionism concerning Wiltord.

A man who was asked to play the majority of his Arsenal career out wide, and contributed goals, hard work and set up many goals. Played for the team.

Stop trashing Wiltord...or you go on the list

I think the January transfer window speculation consists of the following phrases:

"In January, the prices are too high"

"I still have great belief in these players - the answer is not always to buy"

"Money is no guarantee of success"

"We are true to our principles"

"Having Bendtner, Djourou and Van Persie back will be like 3 new signings"

and perhaps finally

"Yes, I know I'm a deluded prick with a suicidal project but I am completely unaccountable so you lot can all fuck off and leave me to talk shite between now and May"

...perhaps the last one is a long shot, but I think I'll be ticking the bullshit bingo card on the other phrases come Jan.
