That's harsh and unfair to a player, un-like some mercenary Kunts, always gave 100% and some.

I remember a CL (I think?) where he chased down a semi loose ball which a defender was going to get. Simple bit of pressure to hopefully make the defender loose the ball.
The great thing was (and no suprise) from midfield he overtook Ade in chasing this ball and erged his team mates to push up to win this ball back!

It was Wenger that screwed Flamini, not the otherway around

Boomer - How did Wenger screw Flamini?

My recollection is that Wenger wanted him to sign a new contract, Flamini instead choose to join Milan.........i assume for more money because i damn sure it wasn't for less.

Also the fella has history, didn't he do a similar thing to Marsaille when he left them.

Agreed 100% flamoney no different to Ade, both money driven mercenaries. I'm not saying he wasn't a good player, but one good season didn't give him the right to call the shots. And if he can't get into a crap milan side then maybe thats all he was "a one season wonder"
He jeopardised his international career to go to milan, hardly the actions of a football driven player. Fuck him!!!!!!

Read back but it quite common knowlegde.
He wanted (asked) for the contract in the Summer, the summer before he left.
Wenger decided not to offer him a contract. Then in a twist of fortunes both Gilberto and Diarra were out so AW put him in as Centre Mid. And was immence!

Still no contract was offered as time ticket by dispite Wenger now prefering Flim-flam over the over two.

Come January one of his all time boyhood clubs comes in with a contract offer to play when his current expires. What would you do? He had nothing to prove nor any reason to stay. We often hear Cesc gratitued to Wenger and Arsenal but there was none for Flamini. Arsene always chose to favour other in his place and his appearence were fleeting. The only run was at Left back and still did a fantastic job.

So if I was to personally offer you to a contract to play for Arsenal in the summer which meant leaving your current employers, what would you honestly do?

How can you honestly say that a player with no ties to Arsenal, often looked over and gets given the opportunaty to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, is a mercenary.
The difference between him and Ade was that we didn't here Flamini speaking about other clubs, nor did he ever talk about the money.

Also look at the body language. Flamini always dug-in and played for the shirt. 100% all times.
Unlike that lanky piece of shit pissing around with the off-sides! :banghead: :banghead:

He left for more money and to play (or rather try to play) in an ageing milan side which hadn't even qualified for the clge. Good riddance to Flamini, he is a player whose return to the Grove with whichever club I would greet the same loathing as greedybollox.

I'm on Flamini's side. Was treated like shit by the club, was completely unvalued until the last minute. Can't blame him for leaving.

He would play for Milian regardless of the Money. If both offered the he was still going to Itatly.

So when Cesc leaves for Barca and get more money in the process, does that also make him a 'greedy mercanary'!

i think by giving that *word censored* cole a game in the cl final over flim-flam,means Flim-flam deserves another chance from Arsene.

I'm going to sit on the fence and say its a bit of both - we could have treated him better but he was was young and Gilberto was doing an ok job up until 07/8. Like Diarra, he could have bided his time. If it wasn't for the fact that he did the same at Marsielles and has a reputation for being a steely negotiator (went to law school i think!), and that he went to club that was past its peak, then I would say he just jumped at the chance to play for his childhood heroes. But as i remember, once he proved himself, everyone wanted him to stay and Wenger even released Diarra and Gilberto presumably thinking he would. When will these players learn that Wenger nutures and protects them in a way that they dont get elsewhere.

Totally different from Ade though and i'd have him back in a heartbeat. Along with Anelka please.

To be fair, you seem to dislike most people whether they're in an Arsenal shirt or not, so I can't say I'm shocked at your dislike for him

I should add, this mercenary shit is embarassing. The guy signed a long term contract with Arsenal and had the audacity to honour it in full, and put in 100% in every game he played for us.... I mean, what a *word censored*! :-P
